I like that the ethereum not so much in percentage as other coins and the fact that the team is constantly working on a project

If they change PoW algorithm to be more ASIC avert, then the price of ETH could rise again.

this need is what you want to fulfill. any of these innovations can potentially be made hundreds of times easier to implement, and easier to scale, if only there is a stronger foundation layer with a powerful scripting language for all of these protocols to build. and better forward.

The developers of Ethereum are hard at work to improve the protocol and I think they will come up with solutions that will satisfy the requirements for a decentralized network for applications.

Yelp, the market is/can be very brutal on coins moving from GPUs to ASICs.

And, can be very generous on coins moving off ASICs to GPU mining.

Vertcoin - move off ASICs has paid off very nicely for investors.

Feathercoin - move off ASICs has paid off very nicely for investors.

Monacoin - is in the legendary status of a project transformed through abandoning ASICs for GPU mining.

Dash coin is an exception to this rule, but with Dash coin, they had masternodes to reduce the amount available in POW rewards with the launch of ASICs.

I would imagine, a lot of many smaller coins using Dagger-Hashimoto will switch off this algorithm with the introduction of ASICs - recently a very large Scrypt (ASIC) coin called GameCredits (it was in the Top 100 crypto-currencies) was subjected to a 51% attack that caused the network immense disruption, not to a mention huge valuation drop.

lol, it looks a lethal answer, i see it like a fun joke, back on ethereum why all feel better than that while they are nothing

Turning to the Antminer E3 -

Antminer E3 180mhs for 800watts = 1mhs per 4.44watts
RX Vega 64 43mhs for 134watts = 1mhs per 3.11watts.
RX 580 29.5mhs for 98watts = 1mhs per 3.33watts
RX 1060 24mhs for 90watts = 1mhs per 3.75watts

Yelp, Vitalik wants the Ethereum Networks electricity bill to increase with Antminer E3, which has up to 42% higher electricity usage than the GPU architectures! Does not seem very wise, to increase the underlying electricity consumption of the entire network.

Later this year AMD and Nvidia will be releasing new GPUs sporting and an extra 20%-25% performance and enlarged memory throughput.

RX Vega 64 Refresh 51.6mhs for 134watts = 1mhs per 2.59watts

Then, the difference in efficiency will be 59% between current GPU generation and Antminer E3 for electricity bills.

As a guide, each Antminer E3 will cost the network an extra $200-$210 per annum in higher electricity usage (cost calculated at $0.12kWh) - not exactly what the network needs right now!

What does this have to do with the linked tweet? It was about plagiarism, not the breakdown of mining equipment lol. Use the reply button for such things, not the quote.  Roll Eyes

The community is discussing what Vitalik said at the Ethereum Core Devs Meeting #36

No, the comment you quoted and then went off topic on contained a link where Vitalik was trolling the Tron team. It's pretty well known they straight copied text from other white papers for use in their own white paper.

That's why you should use the "reply" button instead of "quote" button if you're going to change topic. It makes reading through comments easier.

There is a Youtube upload from the Berlin Ethereum Meetup on the 22nd of March 2018.

The speaker is Delia Hallberg, she explains many aspects of Casper - from the discussion you can try to forecast market impact on Ethereum valuations.

These developing pains will never last forever and also am good going on document as stating that the present price are going to be in hindsight a great time to purchase.

What you know and which make you think to buy ETH. I'm curios to know about this and it will be inspiring for other people who are still waiting and undecided whether invest into this project or not.

Maybe he's saying like Vitalik on television or something like that. Of course in crypto everyone know Vitalik but outside of that I don't know, is he well known ?

Antminer E3 180mhs for 800watts = 1mhs per 4.44watts - price 800$
6GPU RX 580 191MHs for 950W = 1 mhs per 5 W - price Huh 3500$

those calculations are not correct. First you calculate hashrate per GPU W  per GPU cards... its like comparing oranges and tomatoes no ?
you must calculate and compare the whole 12 card or 6 card rig to the beta Antminer E3.
where is F3 comparison ?

and my 2cents... If ethereum devs dont care for their miners, Miners should care for ethereum no more... Cry

Ethereum's rebound is not very strong, but it's a little better than the previous few times, and I think the short - term bottom area is brewing a more powerful rebound band.
