I am not sure how much any IPO will affect the crypto market overallor how much credit Coinbase can/will take if mass take-up of crypto occurs because everything seems to be going upwards anyway.

I agree with the IPO and surge in crypto will go hand in hand.   I don't think the IPO will drive crypto.   I think crypto pumps will drive up the IPO and enrich the original share holders since there is no lockup...

Yes those pumps will be the driving force. Maybe there will be a big push and boost in the run-up to the IPO or maybe in the subsequent few days but huge pumps elsewhere on exchanges will be the main factor.

So, there is a solid reason for that. In a bull market, any alts can be received 2x..3x easily or more than out thoughts. Ethereum 3k is imminent so anybody who join will have better returns only if we take it seriously. I do take Ethereum seriously since 2019.

If you pay with Ethereum coins, then the commission will be small, because these payments will not use smart contracts.
If the developers start phase 1, then users will be able to send transactions to the Ethereum 2.0 system, and the fees there will be minimal. And I think that at the beginning of next year or at the end of this year, phase 1 will be launched.

Ethereum 2.0 is on the horizon and things are really interesting in Layer 2 application plus staking features. It will definitely power Web 3.0 in my opinion where financial institutions would benefit such platform.

The problem was related to a specific type of transaction that was introduced in Berlin. Open Ethereum clients calculated the cost of one such transaction differently from the rest of the network nodes, which is why the whole block of transactions was invalidated by them. As a result, the Etherscan blockchain explorer stopped working, and the BitStamp and Coinbase exchanges temporarily limited the withdrawal of ETH and ERC20 tokens.

“OpenEthereum estimated the price of this transaction with a small error, which caused all further problems (the block was rejected as invalid),” explained Martin Keppelmann, CEO of Gnosis.

According to Go Ethereum developer Marius van der Weyden, the bug was so subtle that it could not be detected during all stages of preliminary testing.

“After installing the update, the Open Ethereum nodes should be able to restore sync without any problems. For example, they don't have to resynchronize from block zero or manually delete a block, ”added Keppelmann.

Based on feedback from users and my experience with transactions that I made today, the commissions on the network have not decreased.
