YES.Altcoin price depends on BTC and ETH Mostly cause there is no Altcoin/fiat pair normally.Almost all pair are altcoin/btc or altcoin/ETH .So if eth or btc price fractuate the price of altcoin also changed.Thats the main mechanism behinf it.Thets why alts price depends on btc and eth.Maybe in near feture when we have all alts /fiat pair it depends on fiat.
I like the pairs that bittrex offers, because there is the equivalent of a dollar in USDT. This is very convenient, especially if you sell and do not worry about changing the course.

In most cases the price of altcoins is stricly connected with BTC and (to a lesser extent) ETH.

in fact it has nothing to do, because the crypto is based on the trend, when everything rises then the others also come up and stimulate each other both ethereum and bitcoin

So you say that the alt prices don't depend on btc but on the other hand when the whole market starts to rise then prices of alts and btc rises so in the end it means that the alt prices do depend on BTC price.  Grin

Yes, it depends mostly of the price of the bitcoin, and it has been like that since the beginning, bitcoin is kind of the leader of the cryptocurrencies and holds a lot of value, not only monetary but also on trust matters.

I have watched most of the altcoins during the last 6 months. The Bitcoin prices were going down constantly and most of the altcoins were behaving similar to altcoin. Almost 99% of them were going down. There were a few exceptions though, such as WAX and 0x.

This is not always. Although, most times, altcoins prices are affected the the prices of both bitcoin and ethereum, most especially bitcoin, but i have seen situations where despite the fall i the price of bitcoin and ethereum, some altcoins kept on increasing in price.

Each time BtC goes down, altcoins follow, and when btc rises, altcoins rises too, but I have discovered that when BTC rises sharply I mean with a suddenly wide marginal gain, altcoins bleeds. People tend to convert to BTC to benefit from the pump and would later buy altcoins when market stabilizes. altcoins tied to ETH tends to be affected only when ETH dips.

At first I can say yes because Bitcoin is the basis for new token when the project was created, but when it reached the market the buyer number would determine its future value plus if the demand continue to rise the token price will increase dramatically.

Yes, in my opinion, altcoins are not independent. Their prices are very influenced by the rate of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Many projects and coins use the ETH and BTC as the payment method to buy the coins. therefore, the price of the two will really have the big influence. We must analyze further about this.

We see that all the time. Now the price of BTC is going up and so are the prices of all the alts. Few days ago all of the market was in red. The whole market is connected to BTC.

Ethereum and Bitcoin are the most reliable coins in the market of crypto-currencies. And when there is even a small crisis, many investors and trades turn into these 2 most reliable coins.

I completely agree with you regarding the prospects of Bitcoin and the etherium, because if we consider them as long-term investments, then the profit will be unambiguous. But I still like one coin, because of the real equivalent of the dollar. USDT attracts with its stability and the ability to store funds in the form of a crypto currency.

Unfortunately still everything depends on to bitcoin's price, sometimes with good news some altcoins can increase like pundix in last 2-3 months, but generally altcoin's prices depends on btc.

Since most of the alt coins are traded with BTC or ETH. SO I think altcoins prie are dependent on the price of this two.
What is your opinion please share.
The price of ethereum depends directly on the price of bitcoin. Rarely does ethereum repeat the price movement of bitcoin. Therefore, it is possible to say unequivocally that the price of altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin, and not ethereum.
The price dominance of bitcoin is explained by the relatively high level of its capitalization. If bitcoin does not significantly differ in the level of capitalization from the rest of the crypto currency, it will lose its dominance over the rest of the crypto currency.

In my opinion, the price of altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin, and not ethereum. The price of ethereum also depends directly on the price of bitcoin. Thats why, when the price of bitcoin falls, then the prices of all other altcoins in the market start falling down.

Bitcoin is the mother of all coins. So I think the rise and fall of Altcoin prices depends on Bitcoin. Not on ETH. Look at the crypto market, if Bitcoin rises, the other coins go up and if Bitcoin down, then all the coins also come down including Altcoin. No doubt, all coins depend on Bitcoin.
