I think it is because bitcoin is the leader of coins and other investors are watching for price of it and of course start to think what to do if the price gows down

I have been wandering the reason they categorized ethereum as altcoin, it is supposed to stand on its own like bitcoin. The address should be bitcoin, ethereum and altcoin. Anyway in any community there exist only one king that is the bitcoin and ethereum is chief of other coin. That is more reason they dictate price for other.

I don't think so, because if the altcoin is good and many want to buy it, the altcoin price will continue to rise even though the prices of bitcoin and ethereum are going down.

In my opinion at this time all the alts depend on bitcoin .. if the bitcoin price falls - all the altos also fall .. ETH has almost no effect on other alts - everything is tied to bitcoin
Sometimes yes, i noticed that when bitcoin price falling down altcoin also do the same buy when bitcoin increase altcoin is not yet increase immediately . Bitcoin price affect altcoin price but altcoin is not always depends on bitcoin. |

I believe that all altkoins depend on bitcoin. Because if you observe the graphs, you can see very clearly how they repeat the trajectory for bitcoin.

the whole market depends on BTC trend and of course that alts depends too, and yes, alts which were created on ethereum blockchain and trading first of all in ETH pair depends on ETH price if you are looking from fiat, ETH price grows/falls and alts price grows/falls too in same time. |

Of course depends on view six months a bitcoin falls, all altcoins are falling , I think it all depends on bitcoin , it has a large market capitalization compared to other coins

This is a small market and there is strong correlation of altcoins with Bitcoin.
With higher volume of the market i think there will be some independent coins which will be not following BTC price movements all the time.

Yaa all altcoins both ethereum depends on bitcoin. The bitcoin price movement always have a direct impact on other coins. The only altcoins affected by the ethereum are those built under ethereum blockchain

All altcoin in the crypto market depend on the price of the BTC and ETH. If the price of BTC increases then the whole price of the market will increase, when BTC price is down all altcoin will decrease

In most of the cases, investors decide to go after altcoins because for them Bitcoin is too expensive. They think that if they invest in some coin at an early stage of development, then they may be able to get 100x or 200x returns, which is not possible in the case of Bitcoin. |

not really, bitcoin is a reference for almost all crypto currencies in the world. but some altcoins use ERC 20 and depend on ethereum. there are also altcoins that use the EOS and Wave platforms, they don't depend on ethereum prices |

I think what determines the price of altcoins is that supply and demand are determined by market conditions, because if the supply is more than demand, then the price of altcoin will decrease and vice versa. I don't completely agree that btc affects the price of altcoins, it's just something that is hooked up, even though the fact isn't like that. |

Alts price movements are directly dependent on the price of Bitcoin and its price movements. This was evident in the bearish market condition, where BTC was at a low ebb, every alts responded according. This is because the price of an alt in satoshis is very key, in increase in its value in sats determines if you'll have more Bitcoin, the same for a decrease.

I dont think that the altcoin prices depends the price of the big cryptocurrencies. Because the markets of all the other altcoins and the volume from their are just to small. And the other thing is also, that most people do not car about erc20 tokns and any other currencies outside of the top 20.
