I'm on block 91402.... Is that not the correct chain? :/
Same I think the majority of people are on this block chain. I think the only ones who are not are the ones who started from scratch or haven't updated their wallet in a long time.. I don't know if that's bad for us though.
there are 3 chains.
1. Sha256 Eligius > block 89526
2. Stuck Scrypt Fork - F2Pool (they stopped mining it at my request) - Block 90874
3. F2Pool - was Sha256 of theirs, they stopped scrypt & synced to this chain ( i assumed there was just 2 forks at the time), and are now mining with both sha256/scrypt, > 91412?
Problem: new players can't sync past Eligius chain..
maybe:
1. There are some invalid transactions in the longer chains.. so the chains aren't valid (don't know why client didn't reject them at the time)
2. Some bug with reorg (so clients aren't switching to the longer chain)
3. Some intentional mischief
4. combination.
What probably needs to be done..
someone needs to analyse the blocks at the time of the forks, and also why we are not reorging onto the longest chain.
unfortunately I do not have the skills to debug (or fix) the problem.. so we need to wait for those that do to wake up to get a better picture (might not even be tomorrow when we find out).
Or, maybe someone else can help sooner..
edit: looking at the eligius chain, which probably isn't that far away from the forking... the yellow base was annihilated. if there was a reorg at this time, it's possible many people came back to life.. this is what caused forks on launch... although the issue was fixed.
Maybe it is related
