In my opinion, it is a better idea to invest in ICOs than into altcoins. Because the pice of altcoins is still decreasing and we don't know how much time it will take for the market to recover.

I think that invest in Alt aren't to bad. Although that it wasn't stable and strong like BTC, but sometime it can grow bigger than BTC.
