That is if you are buying bitcoin or ethereum with fiat and buying a token whose price is pegged to ethereum or bitcoin.
When you are buying with your hodled coins on low market, you are actually paying more.
And none of the calculation works for token pegged on USD value.

Exactly, people thinking that market low can make ICO's cheaper are totally wrong unless you enter from fiat currency world. In ICO the rates are already fixed and these rates does not depend on market situation, they continue to sell upon the fixed price. Hence, if you wan tot buy for 1 ETH you will get the same amount of tokens even if the market is low but if you buy ETH from fiat currency you can get discount due to low prices and then can get more tokens in ICO sale.
