Sure it will, but we arent interested in it right now because it will attract more dumpers. We are working on a community first

MANDATORY WALLET UPGRADE
NEEDS TO BE COMPLETE BY FEB 10TH 8PM

KIMOTO GRAVITY WELL
STOPS MULTIMINERS FROM LEAVING DIFF HIGH

Please spread the word!  This update needs to be done by everyone in the community.  Check the main post of this forum for directions.  Downloads are in the first post as well as here.  The community asked for this update to be done and we implemented it as fast as possible.  This will prevent multiminers from leaving the network with a high diff after they mine Karmacoin, making it more fair for everyone.  The actual algorithm will change at block 10,500 which we estimate to happen around or a little after Feb 10th.  That is why the upgrades must be completed by Feb 10th for it to be successful.

Note: If you happen to download this update after 12:30AM EST 2/10, you will also get a wallet that contains a fix which allows sending transactions of > 84M coins.

THANKS

Windows installation program:    http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-win32-setup (append .exe to this url- the forum does not allow the .exe hyperlink to show)

Windows zip file only:   http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-win32.zip

Mac:    http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-qt.pkg

Linux:    http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-amd64.deb

I receive the following error when trying to update:

Unpacking karmacoin (from karmacoin-gravity-amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing karmacoin-gravity-amd64.deb (--install):
trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/karmacoind', which is also in package karmacoincoin 0.8.6.2-0ubuntu
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)

Does the previous wallet need to be uninstalled before installing this? If so, do I simply replace the newly created wallet.dat file with my old one?

Yes, backup the wallet.dat file, then run "sudo dpkg -r karmacoin", then install the new package. It should just work at that point and you won't even have to restore the wallet.dat file.

It looks like it will kick in around Tuesday afternoon.  We're waiting as well at headquarters and also working on the community site.  Thanks for being patient.

What's the projected price for this coin before and after Crypsys?  Anyone want to chime in?  I missed out on selling LEAF when it got listed on Crypsys because I was greedy and don't want to make the same mistake again.   Sad

I'm expecting this to reach 25+ satoshi when it hits Cryptsy. Karma has a good community starting and I can see this hitting way more than 25 satoshi when it gets moving.

If it really hits 25+ satoshi, is this the moment to buy?
Now only 5 satoshi. that's 400% profit!! WOW Grin

If we really want to build a strong community, like Dogecoin, we must separate the technical talk from everything else.

How would the average person feel in this thread? Lost

Hi, you are right.  We are in the process of building out our community site as well (the bitcointalk forum is great but it is not a place to build a wider audience community).  Our plans are to release it as soon as possible, most likely within the next week depending on how our volunteer army goes.

The community site will have a place for the technical and non-technical, and once it is ready we will transition from using this forum to communicate to the new forum.

Thanks

The explorer on http://explorer.karmacoin.info/ shows we are at 9464 so its still moving.  That is the correct chain- I am guessing dogemon is for another coin.

Look at Tips before it hits crypsyt it was at 45 some like that once it hits crypsyt ot jump to 250 of course that was base on ltc, but now Karma is non-premine i bet is honna go up ti 80-120 satoshis...

Crypsty is about 80% of the altcoin market. Most traders won't consider coins on other exchanges as being risky. It may take a few weeks for Karma to get listed.... More time to get coins.

Which is funny because if there's any exchange that has unexpected outages, odd wallet-accidents and slow going, it's cryptsy. I've yet to experience that on another exchange... Ah well, let's hope it goes down fast enough.
