Hi Jamerika,

You should pm Terk the pool op as that is not normal, some people have had problems with upper and lower case etc with their address.

I am sure he will have a look into it for you.

I can assure you all my payments from this pool have been correct and prompt, I even made a booboo with my own btc address and user account at the start of mining here, which after a pm to Terk he corrected for me and I did receive the paymet I had mined under the wrong address.

Please keep us updated.

Axco.

why is your rig set to shut down if it gets rejects? there must be something wrong with the config.

you should have a Failover setup.

hmmm are you overusing the power supply? that's a good shutdown reason.
check it with a power meter.

That's a faulty configuration on your end, not the pools.

Hi,

I can mine from this pool just fine on my home computer but I can't use my work computer.  I use minerd, and I get the error message 'Stratum connection failed: failed to connect us.clevermining.com:3333; no error'  '... retry after 30 seconds', and it just repeats.

It's strange because I can mine from a litecoin pool just fine using the same minerd at this same location.

Anyone have any suggestions so I can narrow down what the issue could be?  If I could nail this problem I could significantly increase my mining potential.

It's the same with cgminer.  I can mine litecoin just fine, but can't mine from clevermining - the command screen just shows up blank.

Thanks guys.

Perhaps the port number is blocked on your company firewall? Just a possibility.

If that's the case, how would I solve that?  I mean I've been mining litecoin at work for a while now, I think it would be much more profitable if I can figure out how to mine from clevermining.

Hi C892,

I think over at wafflepool they are considering a way around that problem of pools vs gravity wells.

Quote
Unfortunately, its less a matter of getting more clusters.  Although more clusters breaks us up into smaller distinguishable groups (instead of having 4 USEast servers, we might have 8-10), it doesn't get rid of the problems of the USEast servers been 200-300ms away from our EU cluster (regardless of how large that cluster is).  Although I appreciate the (assumed) sentiment of a larger fee % would afford more servers would assume slightly larger earnings, I think a larger part of it is just playing with our algorithms and getting things tweaked for where we are currently.  Paying 3% fees, for a 4% boost is obviously something everyone would agree to (yay math), but I think we can get a 5-10% boost without adding the fees yet, and I'd like to focus on that first Smiley  That said, if it comes down to it later, and I can reasonably-well promise and increase in earnings compared to an increase in fees (hiring someone, more servers, etc), I'll definitely bring it up when I have hard numbers.

The second part, throwing too much hashrate at small coins, is an issue I've mentioned in the past, and I think we have a good solution for it.  That said, I don't want to mention the whole thing here (I think its at least minorly innovative), and ask for a few more days of time to code/test it out.  The unfortunate thing here, is I can code up a new idea, wait 4-6 hours to see some results, and have the results skewed by luck pretty heavily still.  So it takes a few full days to test a new branch of code fully.  Sucks, but its the nature of the beast.  And as long as we're in line with the competition, there will be some days where our testing underperforms (bad code, bad luck, etc), and days where we overperform (good code, good luck, etc), and its unfortunately, very hard to tell the two apart.

I gotta admit, I never had problems with waffle. Really low reject rates too.

I also admit that I am testing out clevermining to see if their claims of profitability match their stats. My reject rate there though....  Cry

Please report back, as this is a great piece of info.  We can obviously claim 10% higher stats, if 10% of everyones hashrate gets rejected Smiley  I'm personally too involved to give any sort of non-biased stats, and I appreciate anyone that can come back and say "from time A to B, I earned C on wafflepool, and D on <whoeverelse>".  WP has things to learn from other pools, they have things to learn from us Smiley

I have wondered if we make it more difficult for ourselves ?? Huh

Use Stratum PROXY

here a sample batch

@ECHO OFF

start mining_proxy -pa scrypt -o us.clevermining.com -p 3333

timeout /T 20 /nobreak

start minerd -a scrypt -r 1 -t 4 -s 6 -o http://127.0.0.1:8332 -O walletadresse:123
