OP updated with current exchanges. Working on some image tweaks now. What did you update? The exchange section on OP still looks the same as I recall.
[EDIT] Removed ShapeShift and Poloniex. Added BTC POP as well as Nova and AltEx recently.

I am still in the middle of this as well...started 6 days ago and still only 84% completed! It also seems the past few days it takes a solid 24 hours to sync up with a month of transactions, looks like it will take another week at this rate to complete! Seriously, is this normal? I tried the Bootstrap but that also ran for more than 2 days with no status display, finally cancelled and thought would do it the old fashioned way...really puzzling.
I am showing 11 active connections, no connection speed problems on my end at least.
I synced my wallet the old fashioned way too. Sometimes, as I recall, it seemed to freeze up on certain blocks or something. If the wallet's been online and connected for a long time (like 5 + hours) and it looks like no blocks are syncing or it seems to get very slow at syncing I've found it can help if you restart the client. Other than that it is probably normal to expect about a month to download and sync the entire blockchain from scratch. I think if you do it the old fashioned way, it includes all of the orphans, that's why its much slower. All of the orphan blocks need to sync too so it is extra slow. But, once you get there, Mintcoin is the fastest coin, faster than any coin I know, so it's worth it once you're up and running! When you do transactions or move funds, the confirmations come in basically instantaneously. It is really nice. Plus, once you are synced you can start minting! So it's definitely worth it in the long-run.

Shows their flip-flop nature. I think ShapeShift is just jumping on the Poloniex delisting bandwagon without real reason. Not necessarily a good idea though as imho, they actually have some scamycoins they are promoting. Let's prove them wrong.

I put in a request to add MINT to YoBit.net Please see the link to image: http://imgur.com/WAE3X5XNote: I gave them the MintyAllDay email. I'm not sure I did all of the information correct, so maybe someone that knows better can confirm and make sure. Or someone who knows all of the details can put in their own request: https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/

Hey all, I've been on vacation for the past week (announced on slack/IRC previously), and have been completely off the grid. I'm not quite back home yet but have been playing catch up on all the discussion outlets since I got back to civilization. I've been thinking about doing some more UI updates to the 2.0 branch, not necessarily back ports from our pending 2.1 branch, but updates that would end up being done on both branches. For the time being, I'm not really looking at a complete layout redesign, as any such redesign would have to be re-done again with the 2.1 branch, so trying to make the most efficient use of time. Anyone that would like to contribute time/resources/code to the project is highly encouraged to join us in Slack for some more real-time discussion. http://mintcoin-slack.herokuapp.com

I fully synced my mint wallet 2 days ago and turned the wallet off today I've had it running for 5 hrs and its still not caught up the 2 days of transactions.... It takes my litecoin wallet around 30 secs and my dodgecoin wallet around 5 min for the same period is this normal ? is there a problem with the mintcoin network?

No problem with the network. You have to remember that both litecoin and dogecoin have migrated to HDF syncing (ported from Bitcoin), as well as their network block generation times being much longer than MINT's.

I understand that but don't understand that without a bit of googling. Is something similar in the pipeline for mint ? As a new mintcoin holder it seems like a massive ball ache to have my wallet open for so long

As a new mintcoin holder it seems like a massive ball ache to have my wallet open for so long Something is in the works, but I will say now that the HDF implementation that BTC/LTC/DOGE use is NOT compatible with MINT's blockchain. That is the primary technical hurdle we're facing at the moment. I would love to elaborate more on the nitty-gritty details, but we don't have a clear path laid out yet, as we have been exploring a number of different options; each with their merits and drawbacks.

You may want to consider that the act of minting actually involves leaving your wallet open on the network for rewards. You wouldn't stake with litecoin or doge so it would be unlikely you would leave your wallet running once the full blockchain is downloaded. Step away from the running wallet, enjoy some fresh air or some mint flavored gum, return to minted coins.

HDF syncing = HeaDers First syncing?

HDF syncing = HeaDers First syncing? Yep. Traditional network syncing uses only one peer to sync from, so the speed of syncing is limited by the network bandwidth of both peers. HDF syncing uses ALL available peers to sync from, meaning that the syncing client is realistically only restricted by it's own bandwidth. Also, HDF syncing uses far less data to verify each block versus traditional syncing.

Minting happens when you already have the full blockchain downloaded, your wallet is unlocked (for minting only), and you leave it running. Coins mature after 20 days and are ready to mint but compete with other users on the network. Coin age and weight are important factors in minting. You'll see newly minted transactions come into your wallet which take 50 confirmations to solidify. Generally, if you don't want to mess with the wallet much but you want to stake, you can open your wallet once a month to download the blockchain and earn rewards. Minting is not required but how else will you STAY FRESH. [EDIT] Forgot to mention orphans. If you see minted transactions come in which turn to question marks it just means that another user on the network was "ahead of you in the line". In these cases you can either let your wallet run and ride it out, or try minting another time when there isn't so much competition on the network.
