There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Wallet Update: Windows 7 - I do not even have a config file in the downloaded wallet. Just .exe and .dll files
That is correct, you have to make the config file yourself, as per original post I dont have .conf file, just downloaded .zip wallet, unpacked and run, everything is ok.

If you can get my Mac Wallet to sync, i'll give you 20,000 Mint. I was trying all day yesterday to get it to sync. I added the following to a mintcoin.conf text file and then saved it as ALL FILES. In the drop down menu when you're saving it change it from "Save as type:text document" to "Save as type:all files". The moment that it started being recognized as a conf file, rather than a text document my wallet started to sync. testnet=0 listen=1 addnode=198.241.46.170 addnode=162.243.4.85 addnode=211.28.143.54 addnode=46.4.95.176 addnode=192.241.215.76 addnode=111.126.201.199 addnode=14.107.225.71 addnode=162.243.222.26 addnode=144.76.64.123 addnode=89.71.42.172 addnode=212.247.109.253 maxconnections=100 daemon=1

for PoS I don't understand how to mine:
mintcoin-qt -server mintcoind walletpassphrase <passphrase> <unlock_duration_in_seconds> true
Where should I paste thoses commands that are in first post?
first one in a cmd Window to open wallet second one in a debug window of the wallet this is only when you encrypt you wallet, otherwise you don't need to do it. I get this message in my debug file wondering if this is the case...
ERROR: GetMyExternalIP() : connection to 91.xxx.22.xx:80 failed took out the numbers but its a full ip

this is just the normal connection messages I think, some nodes your client can not connect, they timed out etc. These nodes could be off the port of mintcoin (e.g. not running mintcoin client). I have a bunch of these, but I am able to connect to some other nodes.

ok. this should help. hopefully you will have done a backup. i deleted my mintcoin file in appdata/roaming. deleted the mint wallet. downloaded and reinstalled the mint wallet.run wallet then shut it. open app/roaming again and open the mintcoin folder. create a new .conf file with testnet=0 listen=1 addnode=198.241.46.170 addnode=162.243.4.85 addnode=211.28.143.54 addnode=46.4.95.176 addnode=192.241.215.76 addnode=111.126.201.199 addnode=14.107.225.71 addnode=162.243.222.26 addnode=144.76.64.123 addnode=89.71.42.172 addnode=212.247.109.253 maxconnections=100 server=1 daemon=1 rpcuser=your name rpcpassword=your password rpcport=12789 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
then relaunch wallet, let it sync. then put your saved wallet.dat file back into the mintcoin file in app/roaming.let it sync again.sorted.
my mint address is in my sig. if it works for you i would appreciate any tips.cheers

Trying it now still starts with no connections was there an amount of time you had to wait before the wallet started to have connections?

Finally got Mac Wallet syncing When I say syncing, I mean 2 active connections yo! Here's how I did it for anyone who still needs to get it working. 1) Download mintcoin-qt.zip from the OP. 2) Go to downloads and extract, you should then see a nice green icon 'mintcoin-qt' - drag this to your applications folder. 3) Open mintcoin from application folder (if it doesn't sync/connect go to step 4) 4) Open the finder, at the top bar of mac You'll see The apple logo, Finder, File, Edit, View, Go etc. - Click 'Go' so that the menu drops down, then hold down the ALT key and you will see 'Library' appears in that list, click it. 5) Go to Application Support > MintCoin & Paste in the Mintcoin.Conf file. The .Conf file should contain: 'testnet=0 listen=1 addnode=198.241.46.170 addnode=162.243.4.85 addnode=211.28.143.54 addnode=46.4.95.176 addnode=192.241.215.76 addnode=111.126.201.199 addnode=14.107.225.71 addnode=162.243.222.26 addnode=144.76.64.123 addnode=89.71.42.172 addnode=212.247.109.253 maxconnections=100 server=1 daemon=1 rpcuser=yourser rpcpassword=yourpw rpcport=12789 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1' 6) Reopen wallet from Applications folder, begin sync. MnWNqhGvvoHm1aDv2WvzvUyiHvcAXK6pE4 Edit - Download link for Config so you can just C&P https://mega.co.nz/#!1oIRTZoY!cSEHNBMGQmg2e6840tq6WL5o-ejuQyCg7dDXB75pBcY

Somebody has to know what to do, the wallet can't disappear just like that. Have you looked for a second mint folder in 'roaming' or searched your computer for wallets? There are also many on the forum who's wallet has been stolen by a trojan

the wallet won't just disappear or change the address.. unless you mistakenly deleted the wallet.dat file?

sent my 600khs rig to your pool with a lower pool hashrate you should market to people with smaller rigs they will get better rewards than being in the big pools with high hash rate. Just a thought
