There are, +60 BTCs on sale orders, and only 8 BTCs on buy orders. Now i'm glad I sold at 7;  moving on to a new coin.

Lol you have been trolling this thread from the beginning why did you even mine it?
The Dev is not gone go back a page or 2 he just posted earlier today.
The coin also is not dead as people are actively trading it.
The coin is a little over a week old and you planned to get rich off of it instantly?

Smdh the shit I read on forums makes me wonder about the people we live around in this world.

Bitcoin is gonna hit 100K usd

Basically this coin has a lot going for it, with one exception. It needs AN ACTIVE DEV.

Seriously worse coins with nothing innovative are worth more because of active community devs, good web sites, places to buy and spend the coins. That's how you build value in a coin.

This coin has a large trade volume considering it's not even a couple of weeks old, the dev's need to concentrate on getting the other bits in place and the price will increase substantially.

Agreed: Pandacoin (PANDA) has practically nothing over Doge, same block reward as Mint (before halving) and even more max coins but is being traded for like 70-80 sat on Mintpal Oo

Yes but thats because the difficulty is very high, so its way harder to get then mintcoin at the moment.
So for mintcoin that just doesnt happen that quick, the difficulty is still low and for decent videocards you can still get alot of mint.
BUT in a few weeks when the difficulty is higher and the rewards have been halved a few times, expect the price to rise.

so with the only Dev gone, is this coin now dead?

One of the devs posted a few pages back about a wallet update.

The coin is 10 days old and the thread has 113 pages.

To call it dead is ridiculous.  Tongue

The wallet does not synchronise for most of the users, and the Developer, if still there is one has done nothing about that. Maybe he sold his coins and is done with it.

Notice the site, it took 5 minutes to create.  Dev team? lol.

It still might not be dead, I bailed out on the last TIPS (fedora coin) buy order on coinedup but this coin somehow survived and has an active TIPS/LTC market on cryptsy.

The dev activity has me worried, we need more posts, more activity, progress updates and information how to help and be involved.

He is probably spending the pre-mine on coke and hookers and next week he will be back with Sassafrasscoin a new POW/POS hybrid.

Relax, what I'm saying is that if there was a team behind this coin, things will be moving along. Sadly I think is now obvious this is not the case. Review other coins, they had a decent website up before the coin. And a least a forum with a mod or two. Mintcoin is got 1 Dev, which is careless as far I have seen.

What has been done in the last few days since this started?

A real team of people could clone the coin any time, and provide value and support behind it. I think it wont be long until this coins go down to 1 satoshi.

I agree the wallet connection issue is a major problem, and the dev seems to understand the urgency of this. He responded today, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I will be very concerned if it's not fixed by next week. This is a fast moving coin this this problem needs to be addressed asap.

Also; I work in C++ and PHP, but I couldn't make a pretty looking website. It could be a small dev team, and developers often specialise in certain areas. Most altcoin websites are just fancy link placeholders anyway.

TO ALL THOSE WITH WALLET PROBLEMS -READ BELOW FOR SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME

Ok for starters, once you download the wallet and unzip it - you must create a .conf file ( to do this you must open notepad and copy paste the following info that i will paste below. after you do that - save it ( make sure you select all files from the drop down and not save it as a text file ) name the file Mintcoin.conf . Once you save you'll see the file is called Mintcoin and is a CONF file now. After that open your wallet, once its done loading . you must close the wallet and go to Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\PandaCoin . In this folder you must copy the Mintcoin.conf file from your wallet folder into this folder and leave everything the same. After that you may open your wallet and it will sync. Below is the config. Change your name and password before saving. Let me know if i was of any help Smiley

AFAIK it's possible to mine only 20 bil, 70 number comes from minting. So it could be interpreted as 200 mil premine.

RPC problem; getbalance is broken.

On a mintcoind fresh from git checkout, with synced blockchain:

Code:
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind listaccounts
{
    "" : 0.00000000,
    "gamebank" : 999999.00000000
}
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind getbalance gamebank
-9216810327147.70507812
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind getbalance test
-9216811327146.70507812

This is incorrect. getbalance gamebank should return 999999.0, and getbalance test should return 0.

Can you make it an issue on github? I don't believe it will be noticed here.

To have my fait restored in this coin I wiil need:

- Know the exact number of pre-mined coins and how they will be used.
- Get a new client that just works.
- New website and forum

I have bailed out all except 10mil, as far as I see it buying was a mistake and I've made ~1 BTC loss here. I hope it turns out for the best (that's why I didn't sell all) but the way things are going this will be a 1 sat coin soon or dead.

* no dev activity.
* no website and dead reddit - questions without answers.
* nobody knows about this coin yet the distribution phase is only 5 weeks.
* wallet sync issues, daemon issues reported in this thread. I had to modify source myself to be able to compile it on linux - first coin that ever needed this.

With all the software issues how can we be sure the wallet doesn't self destruct when PoS phase hits?

I know I'm not helping this coin by writing this but the signs are pretty clear and if people get some of their money out it means it's worth it writing posts like these.

A coin without a dev is nothing, a coin with a dev but without community is nothing as well, you need both things to succeed mid-long term and this coin lacks both.

Good luck to all who still believe

I Love the idea behind this coin, with the fast PoW to PoS transition. If things dont improve I'm thinking on getting a group of DEVS together and launching an alternative coin with the same features.

I wont post on this thread any more, good luck to everyone.

The free market at work. Just the way it should be. Good ideas should propagate. If it weren't for the wallet issues this coin could be huge. I don't blame you for your doubts.

If the wallet isn't fixed by the next coin halving I will be selling my coins and moving on too. I still believe the coin has potential though, so I will wait until next week.

Mintcoin is not going anywhere guys.  It is a GREAT coin, and a great idea.   The devs are just overloaded with work!   Look how active they are twitter, making info graphics, helping to spread the word around, plus deal with all the other work.

Give the devs some slack and credit.   Please donate to them and this process can go a bit smoother.  They need to eat too.
