No Mint have 1 Mint POW reward block while BC is PURE POS now and that is why BC is faster Pure POS makes difference.
BC have 5-15s current transaction speed because of that.
Mint is still hybrid POW/POS but with 1-Mint POW reward.

My mint wallet has stopped minting since 3/11. I have updated to the current wallet and still nothing. It is unlocked. Any ideas? I found this in the debug log, not sure if it is relevant.

ProcessMessages(version, 101 bytes) : CHECKSUM ERROR nChecksum=f14d14f9 hdr.nChecksum=21f0e818

PROCESSMESSAGE MESSAGESTART NOT FOUND
 Huh

Hmm, sounds like some sort of corruption may be at fault here. Checksum implies that one or more files aren't the size that the program expects them to be. I think it's worth replacing all current Mintcoin files with new ones (except wallet.dat ofc)

Give this a shot:
1. Close down your wallet
2. Backup the wallet.dat file somewhere safe.
3. Delete all Mintcoin files on your PC - the QT.exe folder as well as the data in %appdata%\roaming\Mintcoin\... (assuming you're on Windows)
4. Download a new copy of the Mintcoin wallet 1.5
5. Run the exe, wait for it to open and then close it again.
6. Copy your backed-up wallet.dat into the %appdata% folder
7. Restart your client and see if it syncs.

As the coins haven't moved this won't reset their age, as well as ruling out 99% of files potentially corrupted.

ok, I did this. I now show some "stake" in my wallet. But now it is stuck on block 109242, and my debug log has this crap...

Cool, sounds like you fixed the problem Smiley

It would appear though that some of the blocks you might have generated got solved by someone else, and are therefore orphaned. You will soon start minting new ones though.

That raises a question though; would the stake that generated an orphaned block be elligible to mint again or is it back on counter for 20-odd days?

Perhaps a dev could help explain, or has anyone who has been minting seen the same stake generate orphans until it succeeds? I've seen rumour of a 20% success rate but don't quote me on that - other people's mileage may vary based on whatever factors may be involved.

I am still having issues if anyone can throw in their 2 cents. The wallet will not sync. I redid all the files, redownloaded most of the block chain. It will not sync past block 114596. It is minting now, but they are stuck on confirms. I have the conf file from 1.5 in the correct spot.

I have some weird stuff in the log file..

Black coin rises, but down to mint coin. Mint is also active in the community to be more. Why do black coin climb?

Because Mints are not black
I can answer you:
- 0% premine Mint 4.5% effective premine
- PURE POS ( usulay 5s-15s transactions speed) Mint still is POS/POW hybrid.
- rising community
- 1% inflation but every 8h i can get stack(part of that 1%) i don't even care to mint i don't afraid to touch balance
- 1% inflation means that you need 20x less btc to keep price than 20% inflation
- many people just discovered BC
- compare direct to Mint to BC price should be about 5000 sat Tongue

I have 400k Mint community is great. I like it.
But for me BC is bit different coin with bit different economy.
In BC all is happening faster faster transaction, faster stakes, it wasn't so popular so it grows now faster too.

BTW HBN +100% year inflation is over power...This  year will be 150% because they mine a lot.

BC 0% premine... Yes, technically.. But weren't all the coins mined within a week of release? That doesn't seem like a long enough time to allow for a fair distribution.

Before anyone decides to sell at such a low price take into account how highly marketable this coin really is. Just take a look at the growing number of Merchants that accept this coin compared to others and it should give you an idea of the growth potential.

I dumped more than half yesterday.
How many coins would that be?

I had a little over 9 million and I dumped approximately 5,400,000 across a few exchanges.

I bought Tesla which is on fire and BlackCoin because the developers and the community are very active. If Mint drops below 10 I will dump the rest.

I believe the other coin that was being discussed earlier is being pumped so use caution when investing and read the boards to get an idea of what the coin is all about

Sorry to see any users of Mintcoin exit so early, but if I may be a bit of an asshole... Good Riddance! We don't need short term people who jump at the next coin just to make a quick buck. It is this activity that is keeping Mintcoin prices down. For all of us who are in it for the moderate long-term, take heart in short-timers exiting. That said, good luck to you IconicExpert - nothing personal, but I'm happy to see you bow out so others can get your coins on the cheap.
