"...But what and who determines what a "shitcoin" is? The market. The market tells me that they don`t think i.e. blackcoin is a shitcoin, based on volume, marketcap and general interest...."
The market is a bitch. At the moment few old Bitcoiners with enough money/ coins and newbies are investing in every shitcoin to become millionaire over night.
And it seems you too!?
For how long you are interested in cryptocurrencies? Most "supadubanewthinginmycoin" can implement in any coin with just a few lines programming. And within few month even newbies will know this.
Next: Ok, we are freaky and everything could happen. But if a coin rules the market named like "Sauroncoin or Auroracoin" i´m out. Cryptos can change the world - but not out of two 16yr old guy´s creating a coin over night.

But, lastly, a conclution on my part: Alcurex can not be an exchange sitting on it`s high horse and try to dictate what coins are good or not. That`s not being visionary, that`s being naive. We need to follow the markets and the trends, to even get it started with a customerbase and retain it. From the IPO: " The exchange features a variety of different currencies to choose from and will keep forever growing as new promising cryptocurrencies are released. The exchange will still maintain a set of established cryptocurrencies."
Are you answering me here? Because you are claiming things on my behalf that I never said and that is no good. I have to refrain from further discussion, I hope you understand. [/quote] Yes, it`s part answer and part a statement from my part. You told me to be a visionary, and that I am. But I am also realistic on what it takes to attract users (more precisely, make myself want to move away from mintpal to alcurex, and get others to join). And you continue to categorize coins as good, shit and bad, which i simply can`t understand how you can do so easily. As an example; We were mentioning auroracoin earlier, currently 4th largest trading volume the last 24 hours, with more than $800 000 traded. And looking at the charts from the beginning of the month, that wasnt even the peak. I think this is the kind of volume alcurex needs to get a part of. I`m not sure what I`m claiming you said that makes you annoyed, but thanks for the discussion anyway. It`s an important one. And sorry if I offended you.

I`ve been in crypto since 2011, so I`ve seen a lot. I totally agree it is ridiculous seing all the coins hitting the market. But yes, I make money from this strange world. But we are talking about listing coins on an exchange, and to get customers and revenue for our own company (you own shares, you own part of the company). You don`t get that with how cryptos are today without doing what the market wants. You could create an ideologic exchange, how you wish cryptos should be, but you would be there with few others. Who knows what the market wants in 2 years? If we are adaptable, we will succeed. Fighting against it, we will lose.

Will every coin which has a positive ratio be added to the exchange? I dont think that this would be a good idea. Should we not start by voting about the style which way we add new coins or remove them?

I know what you mean.
But if we are "adaptable" as you said, in few month we are cryptorush 2! Look at the market last few month. Mostly every shitcoins marketcap was disproportional high.
Should we really list about 200 coins respectively change the number every month?
Have a look at spaincoin for example. 0 - 100 in 2!! days. And 100 - 0 by next week (if you ask me).
Edit:
How we can verify a stakeholder? I mean everyone can post his fav. coins right now.

Yeah, that`s the thing, we can`t go ahead and add every coin like cryptorush. But, we could monitor the market and look for increasing volume from the smaller exchanges. When spaincoin (as example) started to get more than 10 btc in volume from an exchange like poloniex, we should prepare and put the coin up to a vote. The shareholders then need to do their research, and decide wether or not they see it as exciting. I don`t know how many shareholders we are or the weight of each, but if the distribution is large enough, it should reflect the general view of a coin. To spaincoins defence, it still maintains high volume, more than 90 btc the last 24 hours. This is a way we can filter the coins through exchanges like c-cex, poloniex, coins-e, coinedup, coinex etc. And, as a criticism of other exchanges: the dead markets should be removed much faster. CTM/BTC on mintpal is a good example, with tradingvolume less than 0.2 btc the last 24 hours. Give something like a 2 weeks notice, and delist it, or change it to a ctm/mrc or ctm/ltc-cross. CTM took me 5 minutes to figure out was a lost cause, before mintpal added it.

Noone can. The issuer of the listing at cryptostocks has a list with all the shareholders at CS who chose to disclose their email. That;s just about it. I suppose that the vote will either be at CS, or better yet, onsite at alcurex. I certainly hope there is no vote for this on this board, as this will definitely lead to excessive socket voting.

I have an idea for a solution to the listing coins problem:
How about if the exchange has 2 sections, one for known stable good cryptos and another section for speculators/high risk investors.
The stable section could offer direct fiat to crypto transactions. Once the user uses the stable side to buy into crypto, now the user will have the option of using his newly obtained crypto to gamble on the speculator/high risk side or sit on his crypto.
This would elminate the issues of "how do I buy BTC/LTC/DOGE/etc?" and "where can I buy one of the new coins with this BTC/LTC/etc I just bought?"
We create stability and high quality by offering 2 services in one and making it easier for anyone to get in on the action.
I know I had a hard time getting into crypto at first because I had to go through coinbase or ebay to buy BTC and then I had to figure out how to exchange it for other coins.
The reason we need the stable coin side is because this will be the service that stays stable relatively to the value of fiat.
The other side of speculation/high risk is just a convenience for people so they don't have to create a million other accounts with other exchanges.
The speculation/high risk side can continuously be updated by the community vote and decide how many new coins should be listed, but we should have a cap of maybe just 25 of the top new coins on this side so we're not flooded with a ton of crapcoins and just choose the best looking ones for the users.
We could even have a small wiki of each new coin listed to get the research done for the user, this will make it easier for the user to decide if they want to gamble on the speculation/high risk side.
