I am testing trying out http://pool.rubycoin.org  a new rubycoin multipool out to support the rubycoin community and bring more value to rubycoin

Isn't it still relatively easy to mine rubycoin directly though? I didn't think the diff had gotten too prohibitively high just yet.

Currently it seems mining at pool.rubycoin.org rakes in about 4900 rubies / 1 MH / day. Where as mining directly rakes in 1430 rubies / 1 MH / day. This in my eyes seems to point that mojority of the miners on ruby actual baghold instead of looking at the current market price.

That may be true, but then again there are also some miners who just pick one coin and mine it for a long time without changing pools/coins regardless of market variations. Look at all the people who have kept mining doge and ltc for months and months and haven't bothered to hit the multipools or try mining other coins for example...

I was going to make rubycoin

Welcome to the team! Join us on IRC.

Cheers mate, will be looking forward to this coin. Has definitely caught my eye by the layouts and the amount of support from the dev team.

Something to watch out for.

me too -- liked it a lot!

One more pointer that might help building a REAL ECONOMY for this coin: approaching gem dealers and offering them a small bounty for accepting the coin in their shops (both online and off-)  and/or giving them some support installing a plugin (if they have a webshop) to accept RBY online; same at point of sale with a small RBY terminal. These are the major ingredients for sustained Crypto coin success, even more so than other marketing measures...

Any updates from the dev team? I know they aren't using this thread as their main front so I am just wondering if anyone has heard anything lately...

I'm not sure if someone buy "shittoneofrubby" since volume isn't the highest.

Still it is nice to see there is some kind of interest in this coin.

So why the sudden rise is RUBY RUBY RUBYCoin!

If you're gonna say the price is rising, it helps if you indicate specific prices or better yet include a graph from one of the exchanges...

Well, requiring them to pay in ruby was a smart idea, that should generate a bit of buy pressure on the ruby markets as I don't believe it's a currency that the average joe is holding onto. So they will need to buy them in order to pay for the services.
