Imagine you working with someone in some business, you trust your money to him. And one day he says: "Hey, I will not give your money back to you. I don't know you good enough! I need more information about you, your family, your biography... Do you have a car? Maybe problems with a law? Do you drink alcohol (I don't trust alcoholics)? I need your fingerprints too... Can you dance - I'd like to give money only to a good dancer first"...

I'll play the devil's advocate here.
Even though on a human level I agree with your logic.
1. BitCoin isn't money, not for US company. Neither other tokens.
2. Even if BitCoins were considered as money, they would still require full compliance with KYC/AML. Have you ever been to bank? They always ask same questions. Dealing with money was insanely complicated for ages. Dealing with BTC suppose to be easier, but only until point of "exit" where you have to go back dealing with banks once again.

It would really helped if Bittrex was more transparent on their banking relations and the actual requirements they follow, but I think they won't, simply because all those requirements not written yet so they follow vague recommendations to avoid any possible trouble. That results in ugly collateral damage as we see.

i don't know why you guys are arguing about these things. you are complicating something that is very simple!

you are offering a service and have a set of rules. i read them, even contact you and ask any questions i have, then if i agree with them i use your service.
then some day you change your rules, i disagree with them, so i stop using your service. simple and clean.

but here is what happened: bittrex changed their rules overnight without any warning and that meant we could not get our money out and they didn't offer any alternative for us either. dirty way of scamming people out of their money.

whether bitcoin is money or not money or they have AML/KYC or not doesn't change any of that.

as a matter of fact back in 2014 i remember Coinbase did the exact same thing but sent an Email to its users whose accounts were blocked the same way, asking them for a bitcoin address so they can send them their funds. simple and clean coming from a transparent and non-scammy service.

Because in our country telegram is common

I don't understand that reasoning ..because it's common it requires a telephone number ? Slack is also common in our country and it does not require a telephone number.
The only reason the likes of Telegram, Facebook and other social media sites "require" a telephone number is so they can collect valuable data about you and your life style, which they then sell on to marketing companies.

Absolutely agree here. BITTREX authorities ignore everyone. Especially Richiela
is handling the situation wrong.Banning users! Really? Maybe he needs some time in prison
to get his head clear again. Lock him up.

Most people here don't get the problem with Bittrex. It's not only about
the verification process that constantly fails and forces NON US customers
to do a extended verification (doesn't make sense for small deposits!!!).

It is about  Bittrex locking up LEGACY accounts
just like that and without any date or warning and
allowing unlimited deposits  but no withdraws.

I think it is time to get in contact with the mainstream media.
Bittrex completelly fukked up and now users have to deal with it.

AGAIN: BITTREX please give all LOYAL LEGACY users the possibility to withdraw their funds until end of year.
That would be perfectly fine for me! Thank you.

Of course you are right.  Problem is we are running out of options. Bittrex authority's are completely ignoring customer request and banning people for asking questions where their money is!
I really don't know what to do anymore. Despite going to a lawyer and getting shit done. Takes another 6 month to settle things...
Their claims they need enhanced verification by US law is bullshit - US law deals only with fiat and only with withdrawals of $2000 in fiat or more in one transaction.
I have small amounts of cryptocurrency on the exchange and it should not be a problem to withdraw it. Cryptocurrency is considered to be an asset in the US like stocks.
Just as there is no problem in dealing with stocks, there is no problem dealing in cryptocurrency.

Bittrex have invented these rules to seize people's coins.

We can even not discuss US laws. There is no law there that allows to steal your money. That's it. All that KYC and AML has nothing to do with money stealing. They don't have any rights to block the other man money. Talking about KYC and AML just leads the false way...

So: verify your account (basic for small amounts, enhanced for large amounts or if basic failed). If it works, you should be fine. If it doesn't work.. oh well, at least you didn't deposit yet.

the fundamental value of bitcoin is grounded in that it's an anonymous form of digital currency, these greedy chumps wanna destroy our bitcoin?= they will be stopped Wink trust me<<<

I agree. But it's by everybody's personal decision. Some don't have any issue with giving out some personal details, some have big issues with that.

And I know that they should have given a heads up for people to chose if they stay or go. The fact that they didn't is bad (bad for their reputation, bad for business, bad for the community) and I think that they've given no choice.
While now they indeed trapped huge amounts of money, I think that they'll lose more than that on long term. Bad for business. I think that it's not greed. It's something .. bigger.

Is bittrex freezing the funds/accounts for the USA users only or they are fucking everyone from any country?
Do you guys tried to withdraw any altcoins except BTC? Is it available or they also blocking alt withdrawal?

Bittrex is the famous name for headache currently, just trying to figure out a solution. Bittrex should come back on track before they burn in hell.
