So, I've been wondering why BTQ net hash rates have been through the roof lately. Did a search for "Quark ASIC miner" and found Baikal ( http://www.baikalminer.com/mobile/). Answered my own question. This led me to revisit Quark Coin. Seems the Chinese government has shut down Bter and BTC38 where it was being traded. BleuTrade which is still operating has delisted Quark. Those were the only three exchanges listed at http://www.quarkcoins.com/quark-exchanges.html. I found only one exchange still trading QRK in Thailand but that one is not listed at quarkcoin.com. So, for all intents and purposes, QRK is dead. Not even Bill Still could save it. BTQ fills a huge void that QRK leaves behind. We need to leverage this fact to boost BTQ, talk about it every chance we get, let people know we have a perfectly viable alt crypto currency! Z Sorry to disappoint but QRK is alive and well on cryptopia https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=QRK_BTC

It typically takes 30 seconds per confirmation and you need 7 confirmations total. Do you have a transaction ID and does it show up in the block explorer?

Since you have "txindex=1" in your bitquark.conf file, it wants to rebuild your blockchain so that it will be indexed. Nothing to worry about. You can either remove "txindex=1" or just allow it to index your blockchain.

Well, but of course it's much easier to rip somebody elses coin then design your own. Heck he was even to lazy to change ports.

HA! South Africa! Same place my debit card was hacked from when I used it at Office Max several years ago. Nothing fishy about this at all. LOL!!!
I'm surprised they didn't rip off the blue multi-faceted emblem and font for their logo too!

If it was something new, with unique features, you can create hype by pre-announcing, but a mere quark clone ... just release it and don't pre-ann.

They are just trying to drum up support for their coin. New ANN creates illusion for sheeple that it's something new and majority of them never double check anything creating "just shut up and take my $" syndrome.

Dev, the design of the BitQuark project logo is really cool. Hopefully the quality of this project as cool as the logo.

Whats up with this coin now?
What's up is there are some big players with serious hardware (don't know who or how many) that have been mining the snot out of this coin for well over 6 months now. Diff is out of sight. My Baikal Mini at 150MH/s is only making about 10 BTQ a day, whereas I used to GPU mine at about 11MH/s and make hundreds of BTQ daily. At today's diff, 11MH/s will only yield about 0.5 BTQ a day. It's pretty clear to me that someone or some group with a lot of clout has plans to revive this coin, as well they should. What it really needs to take off is one or more reputable exchanges to trade on besides C-Cex, which anything BUT a reputable exchange. They are up to their eyeballs with angry users over lost XVG, finally after months of complaints being offered only 10% of their lost value with a $h!t token called XVGCT, and other coin developers like UNY rebranding to DIG, making public statements that C-Cex is not operating in good faith and pulling out, offering C-Cex holders of UNY 1:1 for DIG on Livecoin. Amidst all this controversy, C-Cex is not accepting new users. Since I still do have a C-Cex account, I'm buying up what BTQ I can afford. I am also lobbying Livecoin, Poloniex, Cryptopia and others to add BTQ to their exchanges. I would encourage anyone reading this to do the same and reference this forum post with this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=468018.msg31789793#msg31789793I am offering this as a possible template to lobby other exchanges with... Hello. I am a holder of Bitquark (BTQ). Myself and other BTQ traders are desperate for a more reliable and trustworthy exchange than C-Cex to trade on and get more coins in circulation. There has been significant renewed interest in this coin over the past several months. Please see this forum post, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=468018.msg31789793#msg31789793BTQ was not and is not a money grab, pump and dump "excrement" coin. It has been around and steadily developed since Feb 2014, built on a solid foundation hybrid of the BTC financial model with the speed and security of QRK. It's what QRK wanted to be but couldn't. I implore you, please add BTQ to your exchange. Next to some of the "junk" coins I see listed here and elsewhere, this one has real potential. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely,
|
