i see nowhere what is the annual % interest of pos?
i have blk for couple of month, wallet running fine

and do we need to manual combine the small blocks ?

pos reward is actually 3/2 (1.5) coins, you can check it here https://github.com/CoinBlack/blackcoin/blob/0.11/src/main.cpp#L1266
about the staking, actually there are a lot of competence, if you want to stake you will need some thousands of coin minimun and wait.

In other order of things. What would happen if:

Someone get 2 millions  of blackcoins in a block and stake it, of course it will raise a lot the stake weight, after that what would happen if no one more is staking with so many coins, lets say the next one is staking with only 100.000 coins will the chain get stuck by that?

The network stake weight is calculated with a moving window of many blocks, I forget how many, but it means that things remain stable. See this chart for BLK block times and note when PoS v2 came in - you won't get much better than this:
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/confirmationtime-blk.html

(edited)

Janko tells me I'm wrong about the moving window now. The network is still like clockwork though!

What would happen then janko if the number of coins being staked varied very quickly from a big to a small number? It's still a lottery right and the block time itself would remain constant?

I must say community stakes, the variation is sometimes close to 50% and the blocktime is still stable.
the graph you showed proves that.
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/confirmationtime-blk.html

don't leave coins on exchange, stake, or help the middle
more people staking creates more pressure on price
and secures network

staking reduces supply, with the same demand,
price will stabilize on higher equilibrium of supply and demand,
when you stake for example 15000 BLK and succeed
you will reduce the supply by 15000BLK and will create 1.5BLK
in 8 hours,

the wallet creates 15001.5 new BLK coins
which cannot be used in next 500 blocks(8 hours)

I like to think about this:

Mr Blackcoin want's to follow the middle class,
middle class creates a value, so he orphans some rich kids
but doesn't give much to poor too..

Heads up everyone the update to BlackHalo with cold staking is in my next update.

Last update was to the performance of our decentralized markets and RPC. No major bugs, its been running smoothly for a while the latest update was especially smooth. However I accidentally disabled guarantor contracts in the broadcast phase so avoid those until the next update

Will be sure to post on Reddit when its released. As a bonus I'm allowing miners to cast votes for whatever purpose they deem worthy (decentralized voting).

I rarely post here however I'm very much still a part of BLK

Have a happy Holidays

It could be true or maybe they just stored the wallet.dat file and don't care about staking.

bullshit ;P

exchanges don't stake, all blk is in cold storage
for example btc38 says that on the frontpage
http://www.btc38.com/trade/reserves_en.html

as I said before

Satoshi has very large portion of BTC, what if he suddenly cashes out, people are afraid price will go down.. but he's gone, he's satoshis are basically not on the market.
When situation is realized, the supply is lowered, than demand and price find a new higher equilibrium..

BLK is the same.. bassically you're telling me, that market should realize the supply is low, and price should go up. ;P Smart..

I wasn't talking about exchanges, more like users that own some millions BLK and just keep them in cold storage without staking them  Grin

Satoshi was a group of people surely, I think it'd be too much temptation for just one person to handle.   At the start sure and then after some years getting closer to retirement thinking well I deserve this for my work :p
Black box software engineering I guess, each member would have a modular component to the project including access to reserves only by consensus.    So I guess if they all came back  and if one had not passed away or delibrately thrown away his section of the key then we might see tons of bitcoin flood into circulation.   Still might happen but I guess this was a pre destination keyed into launch.

Blackcoin I thought maybe staked offline or thought I read that might happen at some point though that doesnt quite make sense if POS and the wallets are the network and utility to the coin.  I must be remembering wrong, I guess I'm still surprised if exchanges arent making cash this way.   Probably too much of a security risk, pity cryptsy didnt think similarly Sad

what a bunch of bullshit this comment is. Everyone who followed that project and had a half brain knows Bobsurplus/Gekko and BTER were the ones to screw investors. There wasn't a shred of evidence for me to do anything wrong(including pumping) even with weeks of chat logs prostituted on bitcointalk. And the news also defended me (even Ian Demartino failed at finding anything of value and he clearly wanted to write a propaganda piece). And as for Bitbay, I still work on that project at a diminishing return (so where is the scam) and have committed over 10,000 lines of code to Halo in total being 20,000 lines of custom code in the main and another 20 in the GUI. Also my Blackcoin address is still at 300k coins even after years, I deliberately didn't sell my coins to let you guys cash out. So anyone who thinks that here is wrong. I'm so tired of propaganda, I work way too hard for so little.

Also, I've always been hard core Blackcoin. It's just that nobody really did anything about the decentralized markets that you guys have and let syscoin pass us which makes absolutely no sense since we had decentralized markets a year before them or OpenBazaar. First off, it would have been nice to have people testing it. The only people who even cared to test them were in Bitbay. I realize that investors want to move from one coin to another however in Blackcoin we actually have tangible products with an extremely advanced client. Why didn't anyone bother to market it? I can't code and market you know.

If you even bothered to download and test BlackHalo you wouldn't say such nonsense.

And again not to reiterate, but the cold staking update will be out within a month. I'm currently testing voting for miners and exotic spending such as locktime support in the GUI.

wasent there big controversy with wizkid too making a fuss about the direction devs were taking and priorities.

it only takes a few weak links and the whole chain implodes with a big fat pile of bag holders hitting the ground hard at the very bottom.

whether it be the devs having their sights out of order or people behind the scenes dictating irrationally.
