There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

https://www.openssl.org/news/changelog.html#x8

OpenSSL version is on its latest release for Pi processors architecture under Debian Jessie systems.

It is not a security risk at all on the contrary, sometimes we think newer is better but that turns out not true lot of the times because the new features they introduce there is a risk of new vulnerabilities as well. 1.0.1k is the most stable/tested/secure version for Pi devices so far.

Security risks are mainly with old OpenSSL versions with discovered hearthbleed exploits.

We update openSSL versions to the latest stable/tested release for Pi devices as soon as they are officially released.

Hope the info helps.

I’ve posted a proposition of introducing dynamic minimum transaction fees (along with discussion of negative fees). What do you think?

read on other thread...
"right now, with SOIL as well as ETH, smart contracts remain fairly esoteric, not only in definition, but in building, deployment and essential end-user interaction. im hoping that thru some discussions here, we can get some other folks working of dApps on the SOIL blockchain. "

Bitcoin’s ‘New Normal’ Is Slow and Frustrating
On Monday, bitcoin users were up in arms about their transactions taking a long time to be processed by the network, potentially foreshadowing dark, deeply annoying times for the cryptocurrency.

In the past, network slowdowns were the work of hackers or other malicious actors. But this time, the reason for the frustration appears to be much more unsettling and banal. In the absence of any obvious spam transactions or attackers claiming responsibility, some users complained that the bitcoin network is slowing down simply because people are using it the way it’s meant to be used.
http://motherboard.vice.com/read/bitcoin-new-normal-slow-confirmation-block-size-debate

Is this clogging up of the big blockchain a good thing for us smaller faster coins, Im thinking they will have to streamline accepted transactions or raise fees possible to reflect the burden on their network as time goes on.
I see this as a normal effect, any economy has to shake out the failure from its system. Its just a normal process a working system has to go through, hopefully this helps blackcoin get more attention for its efficiency

thank you for the new version rat4

Didnt really hear steam does BTC now but thats cool as Valve has created a miniture economy there on quite a few games and I know cryptocoins are already interesecting with that.  No bad thing as these are games with many millions of players customising with regular purchases occuring in micro transactions/dlc ; an ideal online small trading atmosphere
