New wallet causing such a rise today?

I honestly believe this rise is not based on any specific announcement. Unlike other coins we are not relying on checkpoints to create pumps. We are just hard at work at improving our infrastructure and organically building the community. We are seeing an upward trend over time because of that.

This.  Going this route might take years before we get back to the ATH for the coin... but instead of a bunch of bagholders and/or people profiting off bagholders - we'll have decent, yet moderate, returns for holders/traders and exits for those that need to buy things (kinda like a currency actually).   Wink

Although I'm cautiously optimistic, I'll need to see several more weeks before I'm ready to buy back in with most of my BTC.  I'm happy with my holdings, and would like to accumulate some more - but we've had some serious dumps and drama before... and likely will again before everything is smooth sailing (if that's even possible in crypto).

As of now however, I'm back to nothing but BC/BTC in my portfolio... latest XMR recovery allowed me to unload my bags.  Now just  need to cost-average buys in BC over the next 6 months so I don't get caught in another spike. Smiley
I've got a feeling that lots of the dumping was due to some persons wanting to get into the Paycoin scam early, since those ponzis are always profitable when you know it first and get in first. For example there is one self-proclaimed (likely former) BLK whale who started to hype XPY like a lunatic and stopped his BLK twitter spam at the same time when the worst BC sell-offs started.
Can of course happen again and again, since the people at hashtalk keep cheering as they are served broken things with massive delays  Cheesy Cheesy

The important thing is to keep focusing on how we can push cryptocurrency forward. Vote with your bits and use services that support the direction you want to see cryptocurrency go in.

I do.
And I am really looking forward to your payment gateway, already got some shops in line (two of them run by siblings of mine) to which i will introduce it as soon as it is availble or in beta Smiley

By the way, is blackwavelabs.com under attack or have DNS issues or something? Cannot access it since early this morning, receiving a "502 Bad Gateway" from nginx.

These dumpers who are jumping onto the XMR ponzi bandwagon are actually making me move higher up in the BLK rich list Wink

I think so... although XMR could be argued to be a different kind of ponzi... of course, those same arguments hold for every crypto currency to some extent.  Cool  Doesn't mean I'm not long on the concept... but I'm being a little pessimistic short-term on everything (except maybe BLK simply because it's already seen so much sell-pressure lately).

That's my point exactly...so much sell pressure but BLK refuses/resilient to crashing to rock bottom point of no return low

I talked with Xian and he said he has it back online. Thanks for pointing it out.

We are hoping to expand blackwavelabs page soon and make it more than just a blog. Our goal is to try to provide more community resources.

Great job with the android wallet.  Keep up the good work.  I think Blackcoin is going to do very well again soon in the markets.  It's a great network and you guys will be developing applications for it for a long time to come, no doubt.

Don't know, but must be a very stupid person. If the person made a sell order of his 200k or more coins at 10k satoshi it would still have been bought up.

They need the kick dumping it at once i think. Can't understand, but it's their loss and my win because i always have buy orders between 7000 and 9000 Cheesy. And every single day i get more than 50 percent of this orders fulfilled. I doubled my amount of coins in about two weeks because it's the same thing every day.

Blackcoin joins the big names of cryptocurrency used in the new Secure Email Protocol DIME's specs by Phil Zimmerman (PGP) and Ladar Levison (Lavabit)!

Page 40-41 / CRYPTOCURRENCY FIELD of DIME's specs. If an implementation supports the use of this field value then the following cryptocurrency symbols must be recognized:

Quote

Phil Zimmerman (PGP), Ladar Levison (Lavabit) and their team have just released the Secure Email Protocol DIME. "DIME is to SMTP as SSH is to Telnet".

In the implementation's specs we can find a field that is dedicated to the use of cryptocurrencies. The following cryptocurrency symbols must be recognized by default: BLK, BTC, DRK, LTC, PPC, STR, XRP.

More info about DIME at http://darkmail.info/

That's great news, downloading the block chain can be a problem for some with low bandwidth.

This is not a hard fork, it is just a rebranding of the name. Really nothing changed for you as a user, just that you have to look up another three letter code when searching for blackcoin on an exchange.
