Throwing some quick numbers we have traded 14.8 million coins today that is something like 20% of the total 74 million...  That seems way more than I would expect to be as liquid coins at the market.  I think shorting this coin is very possible given these numbers no?

Here's a quick number for ya then... I trade with between 10K-25K BC and 5-15BTC (With the larger numbers representing values only when I'm 'all-in' trading-wise at least).  Just myself I probably generated 100BTC worth of volume today in just 6-8 trades.

Considering the size of the guys that were playing in our pool today... I'd say more than one did 1000BTC worth of volume by themselves.  It's pretty easy to do when you're moving 100BTC worth back and forth on the swings.

So I'd guess that there was somewhere closer to 8M total DISTINCT coins traded today.  With at least 4M of those being held by fewer than 10 hands.

Yes!  Exactly Cheesy

If anyone is wondering what happened... A long term holder takes profits (big red candle) and the market tries desperately to interpret what happened and find fair value. Meanwhile traders put small sell orders in to push the price below fair value then trigger mini pumps selling on the way up. Over and over again until the market is exhausted which is where we are at now.

We're in for another round of accumulation before the next leg up. Unless someone dumps again and the process repeats. Stay calm is my only advice, fundamentals are still strong.

Anyone have a list of the Rich List with actual % change? I'm curious how many whales actually flinched.
http://maarx.nl/maarx.nl/blackcoin/distribution/
This one doesn't work!

I did a quick check with this list: http://agran.net/bc_getbalance.php?top=100

It seems like there was only a tiny decrease in the top 100 holders' share. Still ~39mil coins.

I dunno if that is good or bad.

Is there a total somewhere or you added it yourself?

I did it myself. Just a spreadsheet copy paste.

Yesterday was 39,864,558.03

Today is 39,195,131.2

So ~700,000 less.

If you match up the addresses and report which ones have significant change after 24 hours that could be useful info.

Didn't save the data from yesterday. Would be interesting to have an ongoing record of that though. . .

This coin will jump right back up. The multipool brings in 20K a day. Early investors cashing out. I was an early investor I am a whale I'm not cashing out. I am holding this coin because it will hit 3 dollars. Anyone who does not realize that is because they dont understand the POS > POW and Blackcoin is proving it!!! I'm not afraid. Let it drop I would buy more if I could. I would buy it and any price. This coin will smash Litecoin. Why? Because Litecoin has the volume to feed the multipool. The coin is boring and slow and can be 51% attacked. Blackcoin is awesome I hope it crushes Bitcoin. Have no fear. I am a whale and I choose to hold.

LOL, I did put a plug in for BC on the wall observer earlier today when things were hot, maybe some of the heavy hitters bought in???

I am mining on blackcoin pool, about to see a full 24 hour payout in BC, I'm curious to see how it measures up to traditional mining? with this new concept,,, which is the only reason Im testing it out. Well not to mention the nice BC price as of late Smiley

The pool is just giving you bc instead of btc.   There are a few switching pools and they track difficulty of coins to mine the best value then convert it.  The benefit here is you dont waste time holding other coins

I was asked why blackcoin is so unique, besides pos.     I was going to mention the fast transaction times, but some think this is just a simple mod like litecoin ?     Seems impressive to me but is there any other utility this coin brings that I could say in defence of the realm of bc

I really feel sorry for the guys that dumped in panic... we appear to be consolidating right at yesterday's highs... just as we have the previous 4 days...

So we catch our collective breath at 55K-65K... and the rocket takes us to Huh and then the market "crashes" back down to consolidate in the 90K-95K range... rinse and repeat.

The upside to this (in addition the obvious for those of us that grab more coins each cycle around this time) is that each time the cycle repeats itself, there will be more and more 'holders'.  And even if it takes them much longer to comprehend exactly what is fundamentally different about BlackCoin... it won't take new guys more than a couple of days of selling in a panic and waking up to lost opportunities to realize that something is different.

Who knows, maybe then they'll actually take the time to do a little due diligence rather than just throw money at something and hope they hit a winning lottery ticket. Wink

What are the reasons for this coin's price going up lately?

Has the PoW period done and is it under pure PoS now?

How many total coins have been distributed so far? Have all coins been distributed already?

Its because POS > POW. This coin proved it by creating a multipool that sells POW coins to buy itself. Miners become investors and see higher returns than traditional mining. Also the mining pool gives investors confidence to HOLD and not dump. This gives a security that no other coin can match. That and it has 10 second transactions times and devs that work around the clock. They bust their ass for promotions giveaways and anything they can think of. The devs dont know this yet, but I am writing software that will blow everyone away. I cant reveal it but I will make sure BC is the first coin I think of when I come out the gate.

Basically, this is the best coin in Crypto. Period. Anyone who sells is only hoping to gain position and action. It wont matter when this coin passes Litecoin. It may happen in less than a week at this rate. Its too early to know when. But it will happen.

None that I'm aware of and when I mentioned that BC really is just another scrypt coin in the chat, I sure caught a lot of flack! lol, I wasn't trying to insult anyone... but there is some crazed BC fans in there,,, hey if the payout is good I'm all in, I am considering outright buying some BC along with mining concept BC Pool

Any guesses about what the super-secret mystery news is?

A Blackcoin exchange controlled by the Blackcoin developers perhaps?

Of course! It cant be 51% attacked. Proof of Work is stupid and insecure! Proof of Stake is better. Peercoin had the right idea they just did POW/POS hybrid. They also did not treat crypto like a business. Sunny King went MIA and now he is seeing his baby boom with another coin. Its his loss. The Blackcoin devs knew all this and put their heart into the coin. So Blackcoin can overtake Litecoin and Bitcoin better watch out. The multipool can easily eat the orderbook. Can you imagine where there are tons of Blackcoin multipools just mining every POW coin? Its sick. POW does not stand a chance against POS. Only Bitcoin and Blackcoin can survive this. Other coins will be forced down.

oh come on.. can't people read first page?

So do you know the answers or not. I read the first page and I did not get the answers. That is why I asked.

has the Pow done, it's on first page : "BlackCoin is pure Proof of Stake coin, except stage of initial distribution, when it was mixed PoW and PoS coin."

how many coins : https://coinmarketcap.com it's POS so no more coins can be distributed except for the little amount that the wallet stakes ( 1% )

only way to get them is to mine at the multipool that converts shitcoins into BC or to buy them on an exchange

It also has the best POS interest design IMO 1% brings rarity,  a problem shown with coins like mint and zeit.

I agree with all that, and even was joking earlier that some say BC is the next BTC..... we shall see?
