Litecoin was never created to be an investment vehicle. It was created as a substitute digital mode of payments that could replace the slower, more expensive Bitcoin.Litecoin is steadily marching toward that goal. The impending launch of the much-awaited Litecoin merchant processor, “LitePay,” which is being supported by the Litecoin Foundation, will boost that pace. LitePay will make accepting, storing, and spending Litecoin as simple as ABC,similar payments processor, “LitePal,” created by some Litecoin enthusiasts, is also on its way.

Litecoin may eventually gain a value somewhat comparable to that of Bitcoin.

The US Senate is hearing a public discussion on the state of crypto, this is their official page with the live streaming:

https://www.banking.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/hearings?ID=D8EC44B1-F141-4778-A042-584E0F3B9D39&utm_content=buffer99da0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

I think a lot could change afterwards in term of pricing. Unfortunately, no matter how good in terms of technology Litecoin is, currenty its value is determined at 99% by the Bitcoin market.

LitePay is an incredible news. It could be the news which marks the beginning of Litecoin road to surpass bitcoin. Trust me, 2018 will be LiteCoin's year.

being greedy I was  hoping for a lower low but agree LitePay news will finally trigger uptrend.  I had made some buys about 12 hours ago and hope it'll be rewarding soon.
You 've been invested and you hope you "will be rewarding soon"  lol Grin I think this bloody market still continue for at least 2 - 3 weeks, an maybe after that we could see uptrend market  Sad

by "soon" I have meant in 2 - 3 months, not days or weeks. I will not repeat my own error when I had sold 100 LTC @$8 around one year ago.

in the top ten litcoin IMO has been overlooked the most, its really overdue, especially with litepay and other announcements coming...just having litecoin on coinbase is a huge bonus and lends so much more liquidity to the markets...

remember coinbase up their limits to 100k recently, could see alot of price action after this bear market dies off

It's very hard to think it was a coincidence Charlie Lee sold approach all time high, maybe he was trying to tell us something revealing that, bad thing is that after his action all market crumbled very bad. Now there's a little recovery but we are very far from tranquility zone.

$140 per coin is a great level to be used as a proper currency, to buy and sell goods.. very low fees and not too expensive so people can load up wallets with 1,2,3 coins. I like this average.

Litecoin is worth $144 per coin, the dramatic fall in virtual currencies recently could have been caused by increased regulations around the world.
Meanwhile, there are fears that China could harness its Great Firewall to block access to virtual markets.

any and all websites offering services related to cryptocurrencies have been wiped from search engines and social media in the Asian superpower.
Initial coin offerings (ICOs) have already been banned in China.

It seems that we will have to hear just good news in coming days about LTC. Those payments processors and new merchants and lot more. Who knows may be coinbase activate on it segwit as well like Bitcoin. Charlie Lee has requested them to coinbase for this thing though it doesn't need immediately but will be plus point for LTC.

Yup, you're right, and in my opinion that's a very good price considering the huge loss Bitcoin experienced in the last days! Litecoin is still standing and it's doing it pretty well!

Keep you expectations high guys and set your targets at $1k by the end of this year. It is not over estimating or speculation but based on the availability of the material and stuff which is coming out anyone can realize. This year Litecoin will be best performer by gaining high value.

Another payment processor is accepting Litecoin:

https://www.finextra.com/pressarticle/72507/aliant-offers-litecoin-payments-to-merchants

Quote
Aliant Payment Systems, a U.S. based provider of merchant services and credit card processing, announced today that it is now offering its merchants the ability to accept Litecoin payments.

Aliant became one of the first payment processors to offer a Bitcoin solution to merchants in Q3 2017, with an Ethereum solution following in Q4 2017.

“Our merchants look to us for innovative ways to transfer money safely, securely, and cost-effectively. Cryptocurrency allows us to move money in all of these ways, while also offering consumers more payment options,” said Aliant CEO Eric Brown. “We expect Litecoin to emerge as a prominent everyday payment option. Pay with Litecoin at restaurants, bars, gas stations, coffee shops, and other places that you go regularly.”

My guess is that there will be many price predictions. Some conservative, some ultra bullish and ultra bearish also.

And there is a high probability you'll act on the wrong one.

Personally I'm long term (years) conservatively bullish, short term I have absolutely no idea.

LTC proved itself as quite stable coin regarding to BTC value. There is much more riskier coins to invest in, so going long here probably shouldnt be mistake. But do your own research. I am not financial adviser, nor anyone else here Smiley

LTC in my opinion is here to stay. Before middle of 2017 it was actually thought of as shadow of bitcoin, some kind of  silver opposite to bitcoin's gold. Now I won't be in wonder if they  become equal partners, a traction to all crypto.

Well, from chat groups and other ones I get to read, the leaders of the pack today are still bitcoin and ethereum.

It will be good if LTC can rise up to be at par with BTC, but in my opinion there's a long way to go.  I'm also conservatively bullish, but I won't say it has all the formula needed now to join the leaders of the pack just yet.  The demand has to be there, and the only way to get this is to create the value for people to want to get Litecoin.  Litepay will be a step in the right direction for sure.

it looks like bit want sot go to 16.6K, and LTC and the rest will folow, some traders still think market will try to test the lows again, but the bulls are to strong plus fundamentlas looking good, SEC thing. so first we will go 166 with light and then it will blow it to 233 range, depending from the BIT, unfortunatly,...when will this be over, this BIT mania. p.s.. i hold only NEO, and few lights will start to pump also the light on margin...p.s we will see some crazy bulls again, SOON
