Remember kids, ASIC resistance does not equal ASIC proof. Wink

And we all know resistance is futile...

Scrypt WAS ASIC resistant, but only until 2014. Whoever was into that hype in 2014/2015 was just plain ignorant...
what is the difference between asic resistence and asic proof?

ASIC resistant: It's hard/expensive to make an ASIC. But when it becomes profitable enough, someone will make an ASIC.

ASIC proof: It's impossible/futile. The only way to make it so, is to change the algo every now and then, like Monero does. That way, if anyone makes an ASIC, you change the algo and the hardware becomes obsolete.

To be sure, when bitcoin halving arrives, that's when there will be changes in prices that are not fair to all alts including LTC, I think it will be more than $100, but it could be past that price. It's just a prediction and the graph still doesn't necessarily change.

Forget about the price prediction and litecoin developer needs your help to donate some money to create the privacy protocol. I just try imagine when litepay.us was not only a delusion that has created by the team in the past. Cheesy litecoin may be big right now.

Hell, by the time Litecoin gets Mimblewimble in play, I'd almost bet that Bitcoin Core will beat them with a 3rd party app with Taproot.

Here's a windows client I built just now:
   https://github.com/downloads/coblee/litecoin/litecoin-windows-client-10-09-2011.zip

Unfortunately, I'm not a windows guy. I built this on a WinXP running in a virtual machine. And I tried my best to include the necessary dlls and such. It works for me, but let me know if you have trouble.

Do people need a download that has the miner also?
built with an XP! Legendary! Very legendary! With a pentium you will mine 5 blocks (approx 700k eur of today)

"Charlie Lee Proposes Voluntary Mining Reward Donations to Fund Litecoin Ecosystem"

"I think a better way to fund development is mining pools voluntarily donate a portion of the block reward. How about Litecoin pools donate 1% (0.125 LTC) of block rewards to the@LTCFoundation? If every miner/pool does this, it amounts to about $1.5MM donation per year! Currently with merged mining of Dogecoin and other Scrypt coins, miners make 105%+ of block rewards. So 1% is a reasonably small amount to give back towards funding a public good. Better yet, pools can let miners decide what organizations to send their 1% to. It can be Litecoin Foundation, @LitecoinDotCom, @theliteschool, or any other Litecoin project. What do you guys think?"

The fund would be raised partially with premined coins from Litecoin team, includes Charlie Lee. Including the voluntary mining rewards from miners is not a bad idea but the core team of Litecoin would demonstrate their contributions (should be significant) to the Litecoin Fund for the growth of Litecoin ecosystem. Without good contributions and participations from Litecoin core team, Litecoin miners will hesitate to voluntarily use their mining rewards to the fund (I doubt they will do this).

Litecoin team never had any premined coins. Hence the need for donation from the community.

Thank you for the information, Charlie. It will help new visitors of the topic, the Litecoin project have official information from the Litecoin team, and help them having stronger belief on the Litecoin team's request to donate for the future developments of Litecoin. I much appreciated your quick reply.
