The coin works fine in every setting I tested it. The only way I can explain you getting that error would be running a client of Photon that was from the initial release , before the code was modified for merged mining.

Also to address the post above where I questioned about how you are showing an intensity of 16 on a miner that to my knowledge does not go up that high the member states you built it yourself.  OK , most people who are skilled at the level to compile cg miner would not need help setting it up to mine.

And yes I did post this 7 months ago

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1446-if-you-want-to-mine-blake-coin-with-a-gpu-here-is-some-information/

I was solo mining and the build of miner for solo mining allows intensity up to 20 , so you are correct in stating that I posted settings for mining Blake 256 that allow an intensity of 20.

The miner I have for the merged pools (that I think is the same one everyone has /please correct me if I am wrong)
goes to 14 max.

I wanted to clairify this.

Also again I think there are ways to optimize the .cl file to get higher hash rates.  I have not figured them out yet.

If I was solo mining (which I would not do when I can merge mine 5 coins at the same time) I would certainly recommend the builds of reaper with my settings (for a 7970) over cg miner, not only did it give slightly higher hash rates, i did a lot of testing and it seemed to solve more blocks.

I posted this in October when the Blake Coin project was very new and I was not involved with it at the time.

If it was not for the great work of those who optimized blake 256 for open cl most of us would be using cpu's.....

Show some respect for them.

Please re-read my original post that you quoted.  Just to clarify, I DID NOT AT ANY POINT ASK FOR HELP WITH SETTINGS.  I was attempting to offer help to the person who was asking.  Quite why you felt the need to call me a liar for doing so is beyond me.  As I said in a DM, when the good ones turn on you it's time to leave.  I used to consider you one of the good ones.  No longer.

Half of bitcointalk is populated by children.  The other half, it seems, is populated by arrogant, conceited, narcissists.  I'm gone, good luck with your projects, with your attitude you're going to need it.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

the purpose of this thread is to discuss Photon,

I have not 'turned' on anyone.

I will agree with you.

The behaivour of most people in this forum is beyond all good taste.

There are so few real people with serious posts of anything of value to contribute it amazes me people still come here.

I certainly do appreciate everyone who mines Photon.

There can be no proof of work if no one shows up to do the work.

Please , let's not allow the 'atmosphere' of this forum to turn us crazy !!

That being said i get a little crazy myself sometimes just like anyone else.

Just remember, there are no other women in this forum I know of.

That alone makes me hesitant to come here but I overcame that after some time.

When more women get involved in the world of cryptocurrency it will certainly improve tenfold.

I'm mining on BlueDragon747s pool for a while, great job with the merged mining pool!

I do have a problem with my wallet it gets no connection to the network. I'm using Version 8.9.1.1 with WIN 8.1, any ideas how to fix this issue? I already checked the Firewall, everything is alright.

Did you create photon.conf? The .conf file contains addnode lines which give the client peers to connect to.

any cpuminer for this one?
  • solo mining from wallet with 1.59 GHash network is not an option any more
  • cgminer is for ATI, but I have nVidia card
  • ccminer and cudaminer don't have releases with compute 2.x

there is a cpu miner but with network hash rate so high a cpu has little chance of success also i don't think the cpu miner can be used on the merged pools.......

threre was some discussion that blake 256 was ported to cuda miner

https://github.com/cbuchner1/CudaMiner

yesterday I successfully compiled latest version of ccminer, although QRK is not working with compute 2.x (2 modules refused to compile with compute 2.x)

I guess, I lose nothing in trying to compile cudaminer as well, except couple hours and 1GB of disk space Cheesy

EDIT: Can I please get more info about that cpu miner? What if I have thousands of cpu's? Cheesy // OK, I don't have, but still Cheesy

cpu info as req

https://github.com/BlueDragon747/cpuminer

http://blakecoin.org/Blakecoin_Minerd.7z

minerd -o 127.0.0.1:8772 -O username:password -a blake -q -s 2 --no-longpoll --no-stratum

or

minerd --url stratum+tcp://eu3.blakecoin.com:3334 --userpass name:pw -t 3 -a blake  (note merged pools not supported)  and with network hash rate as it is even with a large botnet which i would not endorse the use of , you would be lucky to get one share

using the version of minerd i posted earlier for you here is my command line, it appears you can cpu mine on bluedragons merged blake 256 pools

i tested this with 1 core for a while and did not submit a single share with the worker created for this test

I repeat what i stated earlier that cpu mining is honestly just going to warm up your computer....

still it appears to work although i was not able to submit even one share, probably since the pool difficulty is fixed at 31

this is necessary for many reasons

as a 'proof of concept' it may work, no botnets please ......

here is my command line i used

minerd --url stratum+tcp://la1.blakecoin.com:3334 --userpass you:password -t 1 -a blake

of course you need to sign up to one of the pools and create a worker ect....

Network difficulty of Blake Coin in merged pools about 144,000+  , current Photon Difficulty is also around 144k, the entire network is running faster than ever before at 3.5 terrahash .... things are certainly picking up.

Many thanks to Ignatius for Photon Dice http://pho.blakedice.com/
