I'm not saying that gold is replaced by bitcoin, I'm talking about the fact that the crypto currency will gain popularity, as once gold and perhaps someday by popularity will surpass. Gold is palpable, but there is no crypto currency, but it does not mean that it is bad. No ones can say for sure but I believe that Bitcoin cannot surpass gold
It never vanished up until now. Gold has passed the test of time. Bitcoin is in the stage of infancy where its value is not stable. Maybe after 10years it is possible to surpass gold if crypto will continuously increase its value. I'm sure this bitcoin can beat the condition of gold prices, you can see from the total supply of bitcoin which is currently very limited and it's very difficult to get bitcoin and the use of bitcoin is also increasing so that the price of bitcoin can be very expensive. |

This thread is infested with garbage shitposts.
Look at the precious metals market right now, and compare it to 2011. Hell, compare it to 2014.
At the moment, gold = $1197.80/Oz. Silver = $14.11/Oz. That sucks compared to what those two metals have been in the past 7 years. The bottom line is that investors are NOT interested in metals. The stock market is booming. Crypto is kinda booming. You might think that it's a good time to buy gold or silver while the price is low, but I think otherwise. I don't see the market bouncing back anytime soon.
That said, I do own a little silver. I don't hate precious metals as an investment, but they only occupy a very small fraction of my investment portfolio. That rule ought to hold for any smart investor.

Definitely bitcoin can, however we cannot compare these two because they have a lot differences. Bitcoin is more powerful in virtual world while gold in physical world. Besides, it doesn't matter if bitcoin wil surpass the gold but the things is you could able to earn profit through this two asset.

It is difficult to compare things like gold and crypto specially in their physical structure. But for their worth as an investment for the future they are both good choice. But for me crypto can have a greater chance to increase its value and popularity in the future than gold. Well much better if you have both a good amount of crypto and bars of gold.

You are right. Even though the price of bitcoin today is very low, it doesn't mean that it will continue to fall until it ends. It is really part of it. Going up and going down. But in the future, it will reach millions of dollars and many users will comeback to bitcoin. |

I don't think so, Bitcoin and gold don't have any common and they have their own markets. Why not ? For me i think gold and bitcoin have some similarities because both of them is mineable . we mine bitcoin using a hardware or gpu/cpu of our device and we also mine gold using a dedicated mining tool although gold is purely offline amd does not depend on internet or electricity while bitcoin does . By the way , bitcoin did actually surpass gold because its obvious when we compare their prices . bitcoin is more expensive which means it is more indemand than gold . |

Just as how fiat replaced gold and silver in doing the merchandise, bitcoin would replace them too. It has many good features in it, and adopting it is conveniently and practically wise. If only all people will realize its advantages, they will welcome it with open arms. But I guess, it won't be long as many governments are supporting it now.

I think that could happen but it takes a very long time because the condition of gold has long been known by the people while for bitcoin it is still classified as a new currency technology so it takes a very long time to beat and pass the price of gold, but I sure it will happen someday in the future.

Bitcoin will get big in the future, but not to the extent of getting above gold. Gold is very different and would continue to beat Bitcoin in all ways, cause there are lots of people investing in Gold and Gold its being used for a lot of stuffs, there are different purposes for it, lots of things you can do with it and people values it more than some other natural resources. These are even two markets on two different terms, while one is a physical asset and the other a digital asset, I do not think we should be making any comparisons, when trying to look at the market value of bitcoin in the long run compared to that of gold. I am sure, with all things being equal, it is glaring that this market is just starting and with a market that is just starting with this current value, I must say a time will come when this would be a lot more than gold as time goes on. |

Stop comparing bitcoin and gold both were different things and why not both can stay in the future? Bitcoin is already the most valued currency of the world but it don't have physical structure whereas the gold is metal and it is considered as the most safest investment so we can't compare them anyways. Well personally in terms of value one could compare bitcoin and gold. Possibly it con in the future i hope so. Fingers crossed. |
