It depends on the sitr of rating ico.
There are few or some who are collecting fee for thenratings.
Those paid ratings are not trustable and may write fake ratings.
But still there few who can be trust.

They seem biased to me. A friend of mine who's doing an ICO told me that they paid 10ETH for 5 quality ratings and that's that! I noticed that some ICOs with good project, team, and good social media presence are struggling with getting good reviews.

With all that said, should it still be a factor to look at when investing in ICO?
I think your speculation is true. At present, ICO projects often send money to websites that evaluate ICO projects for a good amount of money to evaluate the ICO project. That is the number of points that we should not trust. The best way to evaluate a good project is to understand Blockchain technology and evaluate it thoroughly.

I simply look at the ICO rating sites as a useful additional source of information to dig into when I am researching an ICO. I would never just follow the opinions of unknown people on there when I am choosing to make an investment, the rule I will always follow is Do Your Own Research.

For ICO rating I don't believe completely. Because my experience was not so good when getting the project from that site. And for now the only rating as ICO consideration I to select the project. And before I determine project ICO I would certainly review the project. So that I can get a good project and not a scam.

Rating are now  available for money. Its not trust able.
People generally just finding the detail about the projec though, let alone that biased review of ICO that most of them are just simply advertised review.
People are already smart enough to know that they cant fully trust those reviewers that's credibility can be doubted.

if the project can manage to pay that certain amount, well they have the initial funds to start the project and it is an advantage for me. ico rating sites specially icobench are trusted sites that delivers good project. it does not smell fishy for me.

Exactly, looking for those sites we all know that there are some manipulation of the ratings ofcourse for those who pay will recieve a higher one. If you really a good researcher then those ratings is not reliable.

I think the ICO rating cannot affect investors to join a project, investors are more observant and careful in investing. ICO ratings don't all work well but many make it less satisfied in their performance. Paying is not a good start, sometimes it becomes disastrous for the next.
why do you mention that ICO Rating will not affect investors in investing? some investors become ICO Rating as a reference for investing in a project

As with any source of information online - don't just take it for granted. Try multiple sources, discussions, forums, and of course figure out their business plan and whitepaper to see for yourself whether you think they actually have a chance, or if they just have a nice and flashy website...

Yes, support mazesta, ICO rating is only one factor. In any case, you need to look at the whole picture.

I also do not trust the ICO ratings. I have seen a lot of evidence that they lie and take money for valuations.

In my opinion, do not trust ratings. Especially sites on the similarity of icobench. Better either teach yourself to analyze yourself, or look for people who earn money by investing in ico.

Actually, the rating isn't the only one factor to identify a project as a good or bad project. Yet, the rating is one of many factors to find a good one.
We need to look at various things of a project like product, team, roadmap, marketing, etc before going to invest in a project.

Indeed most of the beginners will trust the ICO rating and then they ask, enter the ICO rating but scam ...
This is what beginners begin to think and find out or ask about potential ICOs.
The ICO rating does not guarantee the success of the project, don't just believe it and keep investigating to get the real answer.

To be honest, ICO rating websites are more or less beneficial to investors. But sometimes the ICO rating pages are made by bad motives, because of the money ... So for me it's only  reference .

Shocked well as far as rating rating sites is concerned some says its good some are not, some are favorable to some are not, they still cannot fully trusted, you have to have your own consensus on it, you've got to have inner feeling of connectivity on these and at the same time proper knowledge on the ico whom you choose to invest.
