While free coins for those of us who have been active would be welcome, I think I would prefer to see the bulk of the overhang go to development of the coin.
At this point a multipool would be a very big step forward as would further innovation. Amazing things have already happened with Coin2 in such a short time so let's keep it going. There's no rush. If people want more coins they can buy them when trading resumes. The price is still insanely low.
I see this coin having a big future and a strong investment now would build a solid base on which to move forward.
It would also send a powerful message to the community that this coin is different and is worth long term investment.

Please be quiet and patient. I think devs and exchangers have done an extraordinary job. Exchanger said that they are still under attack. So maybe they will be very careful when receiving or sending this coin
Yesterday I also experienced something like that when transferring coins from my old wallet to bittrex, there is a feeling of worry that I will be missing coins, ranging from wallet does not want to be connected, very slow when connected, and also when coins have been sent confirmation of bittrex very slow. Then I left, I checked the next day, I was already in Coin2 Bittrex safely and securely.
I also have my coins in Bter and Poloniex, and is still there. So basically, follow what is instructed by the devs and re-read the post on the previous page that was sent by the devs.

I second that. It's easy to be nervous when you're waiting for confirmations and your thoughts are running away with you. All I can say is that the devs and the board have been great through all of this and Bittrex support has been first class. Everything will settle down. Keep in touch with this thread and the answers will come. The team is very busy at the moment so for anyone still unsure please take the time to read through this thread and try not to post questions that have been answered before.

just be cool guys.
joel, there are guys here who lost some of their coins during atack, they should be first to get you dont need to hurry with distribution, just keep it transparent
we are in good position now, we have strong community and have bunch of coins with no idea where to spend them, this is great, you could chip some and give it to guys who put their effort in all this mess
on the other hand, i dont like investing my money when someone can dump milions he got for free, it is wrong that coins are at one holder
what about we buy gold with that coins? establish some fundation?
i think smart move would be to keep that coins away from handful of holders and make it as long term investment in something without ability to quickly cash them out, this way you are tiding coins with real value, you cant miss with this
GOLD
btw i have few K on NXT-e

That's an interesting idea. I have reservations though. Who would hold the gold? Would it be physical gold or paper ETF gold? Would the gold be kept over at say Goldmoney where you have to pay a storage fee or buried in someone's garden. I'm not being facetious here. Storing physical gold is a real headache as you know. Who would then have authority over the gold? It's a rhetorical question really because obviously Joel would have control. I don't have a problem with that as he has the coins at the moment too and can do with them as he wishes, but the 'one holder' problem you outlined remains. Also, buying gold with the coins at their current value wouldn't net much of the shiny stuff. Gun to my head I would say Coin2 will appreciate more than gold over the next few years and I'm a bit of a gold bug. Having said all that I do agree with you that the coins should for the most part be kept to one side for now. I don't really know the best way for that to happen but whatever they are used for, more value should be obtainable over a longer time frame by Glen hodling.

Edited 4/14/14 OK here is a little tutorial for the current process of Coin2->Coin2.0 If you have coins on an exchange, and none on a local(your computer) wallet you will be fine. The exchanges will switch them over for you. If you have coins on your local wallet(on your computer) read below: 1. Send all coins to an exchange(Bittrex, Bter) wallet as soon as possible. 2.We are uploading new wallet as we speak. The new wallet is Coin2.0(C2.0). Make sure you get the right one. 3.Enjoy Coin2.0, and thank you for sticking with us during this rough time. WE ARE BACK AND STRONGER THAN EVER! ^^^^^^^^MOON! THE DISTRIBUTION IS OFFICIALLY OVER!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5wSOpEKqAU Coin2.0, C2.0 - a 'forward thinking' fork of Peercoin which uses Proof-of Stake and is intended for bartering of goods and services. This coin was fully minted within hours of mining the genesis block.
97.5% of the coin was distributed (given away) to the first 1000 people with a wallet. This will encourage usage of crypto currency among people without the means to mine or technical "know how" and encourage development of crypto currency in the marketplace beyond mining.
Coin2.0 prouds itself on being the most greenest and ecofriendly coin, in the crypto space where precious energy is being wasted just to provide a fair share of the coin. C2.0 completely eradicates the need for mining and only little percentage of hashing power is needed to keep the network working and secure.

While I'm not entirely against distributing the surplus of coins between users, what we need right now is a lot of visibility: Advertising, voting and a multipool. Putting 50 - 60% towards that gets my vote.

Just check NXT-e and Poloniex. Seems OK now. It enable the new C2 addr generator so all coin2 in the account auto converted. Nothing lost. Bter seems in maintenance mode. I couldn't get in.

I agree with this. Most Coin2 supporters are willing to buy more C2. We need to work on getting the popularity of C2 up as well as getting other projects finished (FPS game, casino, and multipool). The sooner the better!

Really enjoy reading those Greedy request.... Fascinating human nature really amaze me ( including myself )Those surplus should use wisely on whatever related to future development instead of distribute among users and buy votes into an exchange. Folks, have some loyalty to those exchanges stick with us thru the rough day. Especially Bittrex deserves a chance, not to mention their business ethic, quick respond, security effort plus most important contributed times help Coin2.0 moving forward. I know MintPal is a pretty darn good exchange but buying votes into MintPal is out of the question and a waste. It's OK being GREEDY as long as not let it consumes you... The Dark lord is waiting.

Ok good and bad news...
Please comment.
After coordinating with Chinese community, we strongly propose to distribute those surplus coins in following proportion. 1. Vote on Mintpal (40%) 2 Multpool (40%) (we have to do it asap, i registered coin2pool.com ready for you) please let me know when site is ready! 3. Android Wallet (20%) As we have survived all the ups and downs together, we stand steadfast with team and we trust you guys. but we also needs transparency in funds distribution. Mintpal is important, because we can cash some reserved coins for further development such as multipool, which we suggest we start working on now, and we send out a timetable. We also want to move fast with team and let us know if we can help. P/s: any bounties for my humble contribution. Thanks! You guys have had a 3-4 solid exchanges supporting you throughout the lifetime of C2 as well as through this transition. To watch you pay to get on another exchange would be a huge disappointment. We will not pay a single dime to get on an exchange richi, we are not any pump and dump.

I ordered a bunch of QR-Code Stickers out of my own pocket just because I like C2 so much. I set coin2-project.org as target website and put the Logo of C2 in the middle of it. When I get them I will wait for Coin 2.0 to be ready for take off. At this point of time I will put a sticker wherever it is legal to put to get the public attention
