Definitely, there are entities which can do whatever they want. It is very possible. Even if the market is so big, they know how to control it. There is a great tandem between governments and financial institution. We know well that cryptos are not good for them. The role of virtual money is to end the reign of banks and other institutions. For that reason, I believe that they manipulated the market and we can see the result. This year was not so prosperous for the cryptocurrency. Let us hope that the next year will be better.

Hey guys, I just wanted to share. I've observed and read many articles too regarding this topic and I would like to hear your opinion regarding this. Do you think that the cryptocurrency market is on a downward trend? Would altcoins be following this trend as well? Since Jan 2018, the market of crypto had been moving up and down way too much in a very short period of time. Do you think it is possible for an entity to manipulate the market so big?

Of course a cycle has two different directions, because that's what it should be. If we think that 2018 is a normal correction from the 2017 increase, then of course we will think that the market is fine. And I think there will always be a little manipulation in any business, because everyone is trying to get profit in their own way.

I agree with you on this. In 2017 crypto market was like a giant bubble, and after it popped we have been experiencing a bearish market since then. Moreover, during the hearing of Winklevoss' ETF in last month, a lot of investors converted their alts to BTC to make some profit but the rejection of ETF cause both Bitcoin and ALTcoin market to go down by a good margin.

Cryptocurrency gained mass attention in 2017 and that year numerous ICOs were launched. People thought they could make some money from the altcoins but not every project turned out to be great. Some projects died and some turned out to be scams, also, there has been hacks that made companies go bankrupt. So people got scared and started selling their cryptos. Maybe after 2/3 years we might see better scenario.

The market has changed a lot during one year and I feel that a huge reason behind it would be the scams and fraudulent activities in the market that people have finally realized. Manipulators are trying to gain profit by manipulating the market according to their wish and even SEC has acknowledged that. But still I feel that the market will stabilize sooner or later once we are done with the down trend.
