we cant determine that now since we still have some months to make up the year of 2018,this actually happened in some times of 2017 before everything come to normal around the last quarter of the year.

As for me I still believe that 2018 will be a very prosperous year for crypto currency, the year is not ended yet so there might still be a bull run, I think the bitcoin ETF approval might bring the bull run, so let's keep hope alive.

If you will recall, the crypto market did not start its run until late August or September of 2017 which lasted unit January 2018. We are still in August so there is no saying that 2018 will not be another good year for cryptocurrencies. We should be optimistic about this because this is what we can hold on to...

I am just so surprised the way crypto currency is turning out to be this 2018, when i join this space earlier this year, I use to hear people say that 2018 will be the year for crypto currency, they even listed some few coins that will do 100X in this year, but so far everything is getting worse as we go down the year. I just hope things will still pick up

Hey guys, I just wanted to share. I've observed and read many articles too regarding this topic and I would like to hear your opinion regarding this. Do you think that the cryptocurrency market is on a downward trend? Would altcoins be following this trend as well? Since Jan 2018, the market of crypto had been moving up and down way too much in a very short period of time. Do you think it is possible for an entity to manipulate the market so big?

Well its pretty obvious that 2018 is not a good year for crypto. Ever since we enter this year, the price has dramatically fallen and we are down like 60%-70% and its ugly if you continue to hold and seeing your wallet going down. But lets look at the bright side.

I speculate that half of the members here joined early or late 2017 and haven't experienced the bear around 2013-2014. So let's say we took this as a learning experience and accept the fact that the price will not go on a parabolic rise and we won't see any all-time-high this 2018. If others can't bear it then its better to get out of this market right now. But for those who are willing to stay, then I advise you to view this bearish trend as a test on how resilient you are to stay even if we see the price keeps struggling this year.

We never know what might happen the good thing to do is be patient for the rise of price of all crypto. Even is not the prosperous year for crypto this 2018, still we never sure if its going to be dropping price for a remaining couple of months because the market price is so unpredictable. I think its better to wait and be patient because I know everything will be back normal again, be positive and keep believing that market price will rise again.

it's too early to say that 2018 is a disastrous year for the crypto-currency market. The year 2018 is still going on and it can still happen. I am waiting and I hope that this year the picture of the end of 2017 will repeat, when everything has grown very quickly. It is possible that this year again the same thing. Wait and hope.

I would call 2018 one of the worst years for crypto currency. All the hopes for 2019 and we will finally start to grow, growth is not far off

I do not consider 2018 one of the most unsuccessful in the crypto currency. Experience is invaluable and we have learned a lot and learned a lot. It can not go all smoothly, it is necessary to learn to overcome troubles and difficulties. But the year 2018 is not over yet, ahead of the promising autumn)

Its obvious the market had not been bullish this year unlike 2017 when bitcoin hits a high ATH and many altcoins too record massive ATH too this year is heading to Q4 and there is no sign of bullish sentiment while the market is overwhelmed with bear from my own opinion there is more time to record another massive surge in the prices of cryptos before the year runs out.

2018 is not yet finished so I woundn't assume that way, instead of thinking it that way, why woundn't you take it as a positive way to invest while they are cheap. Pretty sure that the market would recover by the end of the year. The market is very unpredictable and it would turn the tables arround in an instant.

Overall it's been a great year for crypto. Many countries accepted the existence of crypto and some went regulating it.
Few countries issued their own currencies and others are planning to do so.
Crypto got a lot more media attention and now a larger group of people are aware of it.

Agree - a lot of attention from the society the crypto has got and cryptocurrency became more popular but the situation in whole is not so optimistic, because for people who hold, trade and expect the rising from this popular cryptocurrency they do not get it - lots of losses, lots of frauds, lots of hopes and the result is the balance on your wallet... it still leaves much to be desired. So this year is a contradictory and uneasy year for us as well. But I am an optimist and hope for better situiation at least to the end of this year.

Exactly. We still have few months to go before we can conclude that this year is not that prosperous and will stay on a downward trend for a long time.I've seen the ups and downs for crypto and until now i still have high hopes that before this year ends crypto will have a blast and will soon to give us huge rewards when the market reaches its peak price.

Unfortunately uptil now 2018 mostly has been dominated by the bears but i think we should just stay positive and wait for the good times to be back in the market, i think towards the end of this year we will see massive bullish moves especially in btc and eth.

So the problem is that the market is not very big. And it is easy to manipulate. The last drop was a manipulation. I think we should not panic, since we are only waiting for us to sell their bitcoins. I'm not going to sell anything.

I hope what you're saying is true. Because the trend of the market right now is downwards. And if, just IF, someone or a certain entity is actually manipulating the market, then they can decide whether the market goes up or down.

It is obvious that the market is on a downtrend from January 2018, but it Crypto things can change rapidly and the
end of the year is far away for making such conclusions.I believe that in 4Q market turns into bullish.

Only mid-year is worst to trade. not just being able to get big profits. but the potential loss is also the same size. but it does not rule out the possibility the price will rise again. in fact the crypto market will always be active and new traders continue to grow as time goes by. for manipulating bitcoin seems like impossible for at this time .

We can say that for the holders of crypto-currencies, this year has turned out to be generally a failure, since all this year the crypto-currency fell or was in stagnation. Long-term investors this year remained without profit. Because of this, even if the crypto-currency market is restored by the end of the year and bitcoin, as well as the other crypto currency, will rise in price, it is unlikely that we will see good growth already. It will be nice if bitcoin again reaches its previous record price of $ 20,000.
