Don't worry about Asics.  People are not going to be mining your little piggy coins with those monsters.  There are 100 more profitable and stable coins to mine.  Besides that, there are no buyers on the exchanges for them to dump massive piggy, so don't worry, keep it PoW, but if you are worried, just switch it to Scrypt-N, that will keep asics out, but not go to a totally new or unproven alogrythm.  But of course that requires a hard fork.

P.S. What is piggy week?  Some clues please.

It's already been targeted by a profit-switching multipool (ipominer) so saying there are '100 more profitable coins to mine' is false.  As the price rises, other multipools will jump onboard & mine piggy...

I initially thought POS would be a good fit, but am starting to think sticking with POW maybe the best option.

It just seems POS is all the hype these days with the new coins, and dont want to make the knee-jerk reaction to just follow them.  Litecoin is still #2 with scrypt and doesnt look like they will change and will just embrace ASICs ...

Possibly Piggycoin should wait until scrypt ASIC's are fully here (late 2014) to see the real impact.  If all the multipools are mining and just dumping it then we could make the switch to another POW or POS algo?

After the Dogecoin halving, it just isn't profitable to keep mining doge.
Maybe it was a "gut" feeling, but this coin just seems to be different in a good way, Just like doge, a piggy is just appealing and friendly.
Looking through this post, not a single negative thing has been said about this coin. So I'm gonna risk it for the biscuit, money makin' all the bacon.

I"ve had those same thoughts ... this could very well be the next 'dogecoin' in the making!

This would be a cool to have a multi-POW like myriadcoin:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.0

Don't know if this is feasible but you can basically choose which algo to mine, they use: Scrypt, SHA256D, Qubit, Skein or Groestl.

I like Quark, Keccak, Scrypt, x11, and maybe scrypt-N ...

Ipominer doesn't autosell coins. I'll admit I'm a bit biased because I use ipominer, but I've made the most money off of just letting it mine then holding the coins.

I posted along time ago, I guess I am just a troll. I have been with piggy from the start, mining with chikenstrips and following the thread. I am glad that I stood by you guys and had complete faith in the dev. I only follow a few alts that make sense in terms of longevity, this is one is great. I also am a long term follower of other websites, I was well aware of when Bitcoin began to trump the dollar. I laughed at the fact that this Bitcoin thing could ever make it. Now you can guess, I kick myself. Thank you, for a coin that will last.

LOL! Compared to a week ago, yes. Compared to a week from now - let's just say you'll be kicking yourself for not buying in under 100 satoshi. The market cap on this coin is still WAY too low to sustain the kind of piggy-banking that I foresee as kids and parents are introduced to this coin. Keep in mind that kids are not day-traders so there will be a lot of steady accumulation of this coin by families, locking it away and driving the price on remaining coins higher.

You're a star! Always a fan of your cryptoid.info charts.

You mis-spelled "Piggiculty Chart" as "Difficulty Chart", but we'll excuse that for now Smiley

It's the information of the blockchain; it probably means it is corrupted or you're missing it.
