I hope the rest of the Knights feel the way , I do , that due to the expense of becoming a Knight , that their 1st year of Knighthood is exempt from the 10% Tithe, just as we were exempt from Tithing our 1st year.

So if everyone agrees  r0cinante will be exempt from the 2016 Tithe, if any Knight disagrees with a 1st year exemption,  post , then I will pay r0cinante 1st year tithe along with mine.

OKLAHOMA CITY -

You may have heard of civil asset forfeiture.  

That's where police can seize property and cash without first proving a person committed a crime;
without a warrant and without arresting them, as long as they suspect that the property is somehow tied to a crime.

Now, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has a device that also allows them to seize money on prepaid cards.

It's called an ERAD, or Electronic Recovery and Access to Data machine, and OHP began using 16 of them last month.  

Here's how it works. If a trooper suspects a person may have money tied to some type of crime, the highway patrol can scan and seize money from prepaid cards.
OHP stresses troopers do not do this during all traffic stops, only situations where they believe there is probable cause.

"We're gonna look for different factors in the way that you're acting,” Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. John Vincent said.
“We're gonna look for if there's a difference in your story. If there's someway that we can prove that you're falsifying information to us about your business."

Troopers insist this isn't just about seizing cash.  

Looks like Seizing Cash to Me without any Civil Rights to Protect the Populace.  
Property Rights and the Presumption of Innocence until Proven Guilty is Paramount to have a Free Society.

2 Million is ok with me, too. Just send the address where we should pay our membership fee (I wonder if I can deduct from tax in Germany  ).
I believe that having something in the pot asap would be a great idea to start the things moving in our community.

ABOUT THE TITHE

I see it, at its' heart, as both the practical expression of the Knightly virtue of charity, and a statement of faith in the future of our beloved coin.

As I understand it, the Tithe is a voluntary act. It's not a condition of Knighthood that an exact figure is calculated & required to be paid. Yes, there is a guideline of 10% of the interest gained on the 100,000,000 Zeit needed for Knighthood - which for the year up to March 2016 would be 1,500,000 Zeit - but as

a) The fund has not had the chance to gain interest on those donations due to  - let's be honest here - apathy 'at the top'; &

b) Most of the Knights are actually holding substantially more than that 100 million,

my own feeling is that a somewhat greater show of generosity is in order, so that's what I've done. I hope other Knights feel the same.

Please remember that the PURPOSE of the fund is to both contribute towards the costs of maintaining the services essential to our continued growth; and to build the ability to create &/or support projects which are 'in-tune' with the long-term ethos of our shared vision of a better future for all mankind through the intelligent use of technology.

Also, there is no bar to any other holder of Zeitcoin from making a voluntary contribution to the fund - just because.
