I have to say that the best return on the money was on those mega-size 10x14 posters hand numbered to 99.  Cost $23 and sold for as high as 600 (26x).

I"m sure a few members on this thread bought several dozen and are sitting on a gold mine.

Our rapidly changing world requires a financial ecosystem that can keep up. Through our innovative technology and philosophy, we’re transforming the future of finance, for the better.

Chris,  here is what is available from ginter X for the #83 cryptocurrency, you can verify with beckett or Topps

#83  Regular black base card

#83   black mini

#83   red mini  #/5

#83    silver mini  1/1

Perhaps you are confused about the boxes.  There is the regular allen and ginter retail box and hobby box.  Nothing to do with ginter x. Smiley

Yes. Those X boxes are not limited (except for gold border, right?)  The "X" boxes have the silver, red and black minis which will not be found in non-X boxes.

I believe the Ginter X boxes only have the higher end, rarer base-color mini cards — NNO, Brooklyn Back, and Glow-in-the-Dark — as well as the Ginter X exclusive minis — Black, Red (/5), and Silver (1/1).

The lower end, more common base-color mini cards — base, A&G Back, and Black Border — are found in the hobby and retail packs/boxes.

The gold border minis are found in the retail packs/boxes only.

(At least, this is my experience after breaking a few cases/boxes of each flavor.)

Regards,
Chris

No, I'm not confused at all. While I can't speak to the #83 card specifically, I've pulled MULTIPLE Brooklyn Back, NNO, and Glow-in-the-Dark mini cards from the Ginter X boxes. Believe me...I know the difference between the A&G Hobby Box and the Ginter X box. I've cracked SEVERAL of each. Wink

Chris

If you have pulled a black mini or red mini with a brooklyn back or no # you have a major treasure.  A must have.  If you pulled the regular brooklyn back or a no # from a ginter x box, save that box, and those wrappers for sure.   Smiley  I thought I knew my stuff 100%,  , learn something new everyday.

Just trying to help to make sure no one is searching in boxes where certain cards don't exist.  The ginter x boxes are very hard to find and are quite expensive.  There are still plenty of the original allen and ginter hobby boxes for around 90.00 to 100.00.

Good luck treasure seekers Smiley

I don't think he was referencing having found black/red/silver that are ALSO a Brooklyn or NNO, rather a base mini of this variation.  I've pulled a base Brooklyn back from an X case, and guessing my experience is far less than the previous commenters.

Got it, could you post a photo of the base brooklyn back you pulled.  Is it regular size or mini?

Mini.  Admittedly it was of a baseball player (?!) so I didn't give it much thought.  Check out some case/box breaks on YouTube of Ginter X. I've seen a few of each variation pulled on camera.

If you know of a 2018 allen and ginter X case break where a brooklyn or no # or glow in the dark or base regular card(not black) are pulled please post it here.  This I really want to see   I found nothing on you tube

Thanks

https://youtu.be/QPa_mFIYs3o

Around the 1h 40min he goes over hits from the case and shows 3x no numbers.   Watched some of it previously and didnt put the effort into finding exact pull times but should get you started.

To be honest when I saw the first base hit pulled from an X case I was somewhat disappointed and surprised, seemed odd an unnecessary.  But I know next to nothing about card collecting so meh..

I didn't see the three no' #s pulled, only shown at the end.  Actually anything is always possible as I have found in 25 years of card collecting.  Error cards will show up eventually but, this is the first time I have ever heard of cards showing up in cases where they are not on a checklist.  Anything is possible though.

I don't have the talent @dolphriends has for making custom display cases but I am starting to accumulate cards and needed an inexpensive way to store them safely and still be able to enjoy them.

This is probably old news to the long time card collectors here but for newcomers like me the solution I came up with is to use an Ultra Pro Collector's Album with four pocket platinum pages that fit the Ultra Pro magnetic cases just fine.

After I load the cards into the Ultra Pro magnet cases I plan to cover the cases with BCW Team Bags to prevent accidental opening a tip I learned from Sport Card Storage Tips: Magnet Cases. That 3 inch album will be able to hold more cards than I plan to buy. Everything is available on Amazon. Here is a pic before I started loading cards:

Wow, actually that is a pretty cool way to store and still be able to see the cards easily.  First time I have seen this done.  Great job and idea BNM. Smiley   Thank you for the kind words.

I have noticed there were a few more special inserts than what I first thought,  #83 of course, #84, #222 and #259.  I also noticed #18 and #204 were in this list identified in black lettering.  I always enjoy collecting the special inserts as it adds some depth to set.

Are you saying that the #18 and #204 cards are part of the Historical Event Series?

Not really, just individual inserts that I like.  I like that they brought the bullpen car back and the future football stadium really looks impressive.   Cool.  I like to collect these inserts because they offer them in the super rare cards unlike the moons or peppers or beaches, etc.  There are 350 cards in the main set with only 6 inserts which are identified because they are not linked to any statistics, ie they are not baseball players.   Smiley Smiley
