Interesting that bomb cyclone is now in the news and it is one of the cards we follow.  The highest selling one i see was an all-black ginter x for $30.00 bucks.  if anyone is interested, i have PSA 10s in these flavors.

2018 Topps Allen & Ginter 259 Bomb Cyclone Mini-Black Border
2018 Topps Allen & Ginter 259 Bomb Cyclone Mini-Gold Border

Following this... For the right offer I have:

PSA 10 Glowie 259
Blank back 1/1 259 (ungraded)
Brooklyn back 259 (being graded)
NNO 259 (being graded)

Man. If someone bought us all out that'd be a 259 full house.  Literally

Hey crypto card fans Smiley

Looks like there won't be any follow-up to the A&G cryptocurrency cards this year.  Hopefully we will see some crypto related cards in basketball, hockey or football sets in the future.  Keeping my fingers crossed

Best to all and happy treasure hunting

Seems like a stupid move considering how popular the crypto cards are. Do they not look at the secondary market at all?

Agree, but I doubt the manufacturer cares about the secondary market.

If the Topps Company does NOT do a new digital currency follow up, then there will be a gap, meaning that the 2018 is the STAND ALONE ROOKIE cards to the world. Plain and simple. Now, I ask you...just what do you think will happen to the price of these?  LOLO...to-the-bank-we go...la la la la  la *  skipping all the way to the bank...... Grin

I'm not all that surprised at topps doing this as a one time, I dont think they want a continuous run on their non baseball cards and have all new non sport cards to offer in 19.

Topps just did the Crypto-Collectables sector a HUGE favor, as far as I'm concerned..... Cheesy  Looking like even the 5x7's, and the posters, the triple in one cards (Topps vault), plates, etc.......all THAT...is now going to do nothing but increase in value (imagine rocket ship take off) ALL varieties of the 2018 ROOKIES just took a leap in value  Tongue

*I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other makers does a "follow the leader" move though.....time will tell  Undecided

Do we have an official list of all the players for 2019? maybe they'll sneak a few players in like Bit Coin and Ethel Reum <insert drum roll here>.  i didn't see official list.  i won't believe no crypto cards until i see the list. 1 to 350.

There’s still a chance that some of the non-player base cards (and matching rare mini cards) will be crypto-related, such as Satoshi Nakamoto (Guy Fawkes mask), Craig Wright, Charlie Lee, whomever. Fingers cross’d

Chris

Here is another thing that PSA grades: Sealed packs.

I sent in a sealed 3-card pack with the crypto card on top.  The odds are getting that card on top are lower than a 1/3 of 1 percent.  If you were to order a ton of value packs in hopes of getting a crypto card on top - 350 of them, you'd have to pay about $2,300!  (3 packs of value backs cost about 20 bucks, 350/3 = 116.67, 116.67 x 20 = 2,333.

If you are in the market for a PSA 10 one, let send me a PM.  No pictures yet, they are still sealing it.

Funny thing is that i bought a ton of packs and i literally pulled a crypto card on top with second pack.  if i'd been smart, i would have returned the rest unopened.  Well, i opened the rest and not even one additional crypto card anywhere.

That's a pretty cool pack you got but you cant extrapolate costs like that and how much that turns into value of the pack you own.  It should certainly get a little more than the card is worth but not nearly the amount X odds of getting one

i see your point, but i now many of us buy packs with the goal of pulling a certain card (brooklyn, silver 1/1, etc)  i'm just trying to make the case that it is better money management to buy the card you want with an analysis to back it up.

I've purchased 2 full cases of ginter cards and an X case.  As fun as it was to open those packs, it didn't make financial sense.

From just a financial point of view I have always said just buy the card, but it's more fun opening packs.  That's just my opinion .

Plus when you open packs, you bought yourself a job of organizing them and selling or trading the plethora of cards.  For that ginter box, i gave up a weekend organizing the cards. it was fun, but thank goodness we have a ping pong table that is perfect for that.
