I also read your posts, nothing special, many offensive words, be more polite, this is a serious forum.
There isn't any thing super serious about this forum at all, and if your skin is too thin do deal with some potentially offensive words, ten maybe this isn't cut out for you.  This has been more or less how bitcointalk as been making posts for a while now.  If you're offended, good luck trying to overthrow the established mebers so that you won't get trolled or otherwse outraged.

I have yet to see any really good solutions to the feminist agenda as it pertains to the video game industry.  I'm curious as to wheter it's going to have a positive effect.

I've never joined a signature campaign. I've been a lurker on BCT longer than I've been a member and that's how I like it. I'm not here for any forum rating or status. I'm here for Bitcoin, for Cryptocurrencies, for Distributed Public Ledger Technology. To learn. To ask questions. To talk about Bitcoin. I don't care if you think I write quality posts. I don't care what any one person on this forum thinks about me, my posts or what I had for lunch today. I Don't. F*cking. Care. At all. I don't live and die by this forum, but I love all the information available here from topics such as mining cryptocurrencies to ICO ANN's to random quotes that make me think or laugh.

Don't get me wrong, I love it here on BCT, but to demote members like me, who were stoked to have gotten to Junior Member status without pandering to posting rules and getting merit for what others thought about certain posts, was not cool. So not cool. I was stoked to be a Junior Member without having to stress out on whether or not some a$$hole on BCT thought my posts were quality to him or her. Now that and other simple forum abilities have been stripped from me for liking to sit back and read more than I post. Rad.

And while I can see the point for this demoting move, I don't like being on the receiving end of it. Yeah I get it, blah spam blah shitposters blah insert whatever lame reason you agree with Theymos pulling this demoting stunt here, but as I was one of the affected members who got demoted and I'm pissed. Yeah, I know, I don't care about rank, but it was cool to see that at least I wasn't some lame ass shitposting newbie punk who couldn't post more than once every 120 seconds to all the other real shitposting spam peddlers here on BCT. Now I'm back into that newbie cesspool where every dickhead on BCT assumes I'm some shitposting spammer because I'm a newbie. Back to where some elitist morons won't even take PM's from me because I'm a *gasp* newbie. Oh no, not a newbie, run for the hills Alice!! Unbelieveable amount of elitism at play here. Makes me fucking sick. Thanks for taking away my ability to post more often and do other menial tasks here on BCT Theymos, you're the man, appreciate it bud.

Buy a copper membership. Or just pretend you are lurking again, but outloud. Then maybe someone will drop a merit on you or something.

Looked very briefly, and here's what I found.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4898414.msg44323289#msg44323289

Didn't bother to see if you had been accepted to said signature so maybe you were accurate in you "never joined" statement, just applied. Regardless same advice above applies.

Actually you make a lot of decent points, and you even articulate them fairly well, except for the fact that you seem to be taking this whole "demotion" matter too personally, and seem to be very resentful about the contributions of other forum members who have gained rank through time on the forum.

Yeah, it is understandable that peeps such as yourself might not want to have new rules, and sure you could follow the suggestions of Steamtyme by buying a copper membership or just keep pressing on as a lurker.  On the other hand, you could post without so much seeming unnecessary bitterness because even though you proclaim that you don't want any merit, you might actually appreciate some merit if you end up receiving a few.

It seems to me that even the most jaded of us appreciate interaction with like minded peeps, and you must like some interaction since you went through a bit of time to formulate your post, even if some of us, perhaps you, happen to seem a bit fucked up and perhaps have some sociopathic traits?

You certainly seem capable enough to earn a few merits without much effort, just by posting a bit on topics that you enjoy, anyhow.  Or perhaps, you are so fucking self-absorbed that no one is going to appreciate your posts, but actually, I doubt that, because there are plenty of forum members who are similar to you, believe it or not, you seemingly self-absorbed overly emotional fuck.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes    Tongue

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

The time between posts doesn't depend on your rank, it only depends on your Activity. So it's still the same as before you got demoted.

You only have Newbie spammers to thank for that, just like you can thank them for Newbies only being allowed to send 2 PMs per day.

As I said earlier, that isn't true. The only real change is that you can't post embedded images anymore.

That being said, I don't think you're part of the shitposters with massive spam on this forum, and that's why I've merited you. Note: that doesn't mean I agree with everything you've said, and I don't endorse the language you use. But it doesn mean I think your post is worth reading.

I think this rule is a good basis for beginners if you want to level up. Because it will reduce unreasonable posts (SPAM) in this forum

Which is all you did before the new rule!! Over a 1000 bot-like reports on 15 pages of your history. . New rule drops you to newbie and suddenly you get a human voice??That too admiring the new system! Stop Man! Just Stop!!

I don't know whether to laugh at such posters or be annoyed at them. Cheesy  Angry Angry .I hope you stay in newbie hell just a little longer.

The culture of giving merits to good content and reasonable answer is considered as shit post and those who put good content are missing merits

If you are not a bot, then here is some good advice for you:

Ok - if you care about this place, give up bounties for a month - improve your grammar a little, read the rules of the forum and only post 4 well thought out and valuable posts.

you do that, ill give you 50 merits.

how does that sound?

All though I am affected by this new rules, I don't mind at all as long as this forum will filter and only the genuine members will stay. They say this is outrageous and many people will leave the forum but for me it is much better this way to keep the credibility of the forum. Quality is better than quantity.

The decision taken by the bitcoin forum to increased the restrictions and requirements of newbie is good because of this many people who have multiple accounts can be find. Moreover some are not in favor of that, actually in starting i m also not because i do not have a single merit and i lost my position of jr. member and come on newbie position but i think in a long term it will benefit to all of us and people who are working faithfully they have to spot this decision like i m doing right now.

It seems like the hype has gone, Meta has only 1-2 new pages of new or newly answered topics per day just like before the implementation of the 1 merit to become Jr. system.
As most of the signature campaigns pay weekly (I don't know about the bounty campaigns), we need to wait for a week at least to let the newbies stop complaining in Meta. After then, those who have sMerits available can start to take a look at the Bitcoin Discussion and other former spam boards to find some newbies who worth some merits... I hope this will help those boards to get spam free again (or at least partially, like a few years before)...

It was nice to read this and see that is a kind of "temporary" solution, I was affected by the downgrading and my project as well but I understand that is a quite useful rule. There should be a news section on BTT in the Home page (at least a running news bar) because it took me a while to find this thread.

Yeah I read his posts he should not be a newbie.

Thermyos list given to me has 475 posters with over 25000 posts  and about 23500 are bounty posts.

mushroomjazz was not doing it.

My one complaint of thermyos action  was he could have asked some longer members to review  the list.    As for the first forty I did look at   36 are bounty hunters  with 98%  or more posts  that are simply bad.

I see I have been demoted back to Newbie. Yes, I believe that I have been guilty of building quote pyramids and the like with hundreds of SM links as a bounty hunter. However, I will endeavor to change my ways and provide a better contribution to keep the forum for what it was originally intended. I regret that my introduction to BTT was by ICO bounty recruiters and unfortunately I accepted this as the norm.

Looks like, after introduction of new rules for receiving a rank of Jr. member, became less spam. And also messages became more better. It's unconditional indeed. However the reason can be not absolutely that all began to treat posts more seriously. Just many juniors participated in the signature companies, before innovations. Then all Jr. Members without merit have lost their signatures. Naturally after that the number of messages decreased, many users write both spam and flood just for the signature companies. And without need to write a certain number of messages in a week, many have ceased to write. As not everyone has sufficient knowledge for writing of qualitative posts. And many wrote them in big quantity only because of requirements of the signature companies. I agree that the last changes have done good to a forum in respect of quality of posts. Now many try to write something useful. Therefore, it is worth waiting for real results in a month or two. As they say, this is a blessing in disguise.
P.s. sorry for my bad english,  It's not native language.

Due to excessive garbage-posting, you now need 1 merit to be a Jr Member. All existing Jr Members who didn't meet the requirement were demoted. Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text.

Note that this does not affect:
 - PM rate-limiting, which is based purely on activity & whitelisted status.
 - "You must wait ___ seconds...", which is based purely on activity & whitelisted status.

But it does affect:
 - Voting in polls
 - Patroller jurisdiction
 - The "ignore newbie PMs" option.
 - "The body is omitted from this email because the sender is a newbie."
 - BBCode limits
 - Reduced-accuracy link filtering
 - Board restrictions

Many of these limitations can be eliminated with a copper membership. In particular, you can set a signature at Member level if you wear a copper membership.

One reason that I was hesitant to do this before is that there are an awful lot of newbie restrictions, and I don't want the forum to be unwelcoming to good newbies. I'll think about tying some of those to activity instead of rank in the future.

With help from DdmrDdmr, I just added 36 new merit sources, which should help newbies achieve the requirement. But if you're incapable of posting anything worthwhile, then you will never rank up, and you shouldn't: this isn't the forum for you.

If you decide to fight spam on an honest basis, you still need to cancel Merit, which you gave out for the activity of your account and leave only the earned ones.
Then you can judge the results, who has what rating!!! Grin

Due to new rules (the rank system), there were Bitcointalk users, on the one hand, saying this is a good thing and then, on the other hand, applauding those who did a protest. Those Who think this means nothing clearly, as it will no longer change things. My own opinion; I think it was built to improve the quality of the platform. When I registered to this platform I saw there was a new rank system so I was thinking how can I get merit, I thought it would be difficult! But nothing was like what I thought, it is not difficult if you make quality topics and threads. I have opened quality topics and I've written quality comments. I don't blame anybody, so no offence intended, but some users only make unnecessary comments to gain activity or they complete their weekly comments in the signature campaign which they have to do. They are actually contributing spamming comments, available on every language (English, Russian, Turkish etc.). All of these comments for me appear to be spam and a waste of valuable space. I feel uncomfortable seeing them, there is also a multi-account usage, there are users who control 10 or 15 accounts, I think that a solution should be found for the multi accounts to limit their spamming capability and decrease worthless or ineffective content.
