Well, they are targeting slightly different markets, but market cap is quantifiable - so I don't see a problem with comparing them.
I think Ripple has a brighter future in terms of price simply because of the lack of ICO-s that can dump its price further.
But I prefer the technology and community behind ETH.

It is just about the rankings in the coinmarketcap due to many supply of XRP.
But if we will look on the project, ETHEREUM is way better than RIPPLE!
In many aspect and demands from the market i will stick with ETH.

It is impossible to draw such conclusions only due to the fact that the ripple and the ether changed places in the rating. These are fundamentally different projects and they have different goals. So I think that these are two promising projects that will definitely bring me profit in the future.

No way! Ripple is for a short term period. I do not expect this centralized coin to surpass ethereum in volume specially, most of people are thinking a hype in this coin only. Ethereum has a package, it just waiting the development and news coming from the other side which is bitcoin. When most of altcoins made in ethereum will regulate, assume that ethereum arrive also.

XRP is a fake cryptocurrency. It just uses the blockchain, but it is a concentrated coin. It is not as good as Ethereum. Ethereum is the king of ICO for cryptocurrency. Now it is only a difficult problem. In the future, it will definitely Beyond XRP.

of course Ethereum is better than XRP, not XRP better than Ethereum, in ethereum platform make developer can write their smart contract in Ethereum Blockchain for create Dapps, so XRP just used for banking and payment gateway, Ethereum can handle the both

yes now XRP is in second place because it has a larger trading volume than ETH but this does not mean XRP is better than ETH. in my opinion ETH trading volume is declining because now there are too many ICO projects that are scam and most of the ICO projects use the ETH platform. so this makes eth decline and makes people move to XRP. in terms of technology eth remains attractive with its smart contract. and I believe ETH can rise again even if it takes a long time.

What they've done is just compared the market capitalization of theses coins, without really figuring out the capabilities of each. ETH, for me is the rank number 1 as it opens up smartcontract for projects to enter the market.
