Exactly. We know for sure, that Ethereum will recover someday in the same way as Bitcoin. It's all a matter of time and patience before Ethereum hits new ATHs again. Personally, I wouldn't worry about current ETH prices since the lower it becomes the greater for your pocket. You can easily obtain more ETH at cheaper prices before it becomes a full-fledged PoS cryptocurrency and before a bull market takes effect. Knowing how successful Ethereum has been in terms of development and innovation, should give us some confidence that the cryptocurrency will survive for many years to come.

Your prediction of Ethereum increasing in price within 5 years is realistic. This is because, Bitcoin's halving is bound to happen soon causing a bull market once more. Not to mention, ETH's newest upgrades will trigger a massive "FOMO" sentiment across people in the mainstream world. Now, we cannot tell for sure if it'll rise 10 times the price it is right now. Without a doubt a Ethereum will rise again. But, we cannot deny the fact that Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency which triggers prices across the crypto market. The main reason why ETH went up was because of Bitcoin's astronomical rise in price back in 2017. This triggered a massive bull market which benefited not only Ethereum, but other altcoins on the market as well. Right after prices started to decline last year, altcoins experienced a "bloodbath" like never before. Nowadays, Bitcoin has been rising in price while other altcoins have been slowly declining in value. This is an odd behavior on the crypto market, since usually altcoins rise in price following Bitcoin's footsteps. Because of the current situation, the only way Ethereum could rise again is if there's an uptick in demand within the mainstream world triggered by an exciting event.

Back in the day where ICOs were extremely popular, Ethereum gained traction in price as well as mainstream adoption.
