I prefer gold to be honest because I think its more secure and you will also not have to really look at the market every minute..
Gold is safe and profitable, bitcoin is risky.
Investing into gold can be good but keep in mind that the waiting time to make profit is so long, I'm investing because of that reason in the bitcoin, its way faster in making profit. |

Yes I agree, we must separated our investment in 2 or more. But in this year bitcoin is only my investment because is very profitable. And a month ago I was sell my gold to bought bitcoin, and now bitcoin is very profitable than gold. |

Yes I agree, we must separated our investment in 2 or more. But in this year bitcoin is only my investment because is very profitable. And a month ago I was sell my gold to bought bitcoin, and now bitcoin is very profitable than gold. they both are profitable but not at the same time usually. one time bitcoin is getting volatile and going up to the moon and then the next month it becomes even more stable than gold. if you want profit you have to pick your moments for getting in this market and buy at the best time for highest amount of profit. |

Every halving is really a different story as most of the time the price rises, just this year alone where halving took place, we have seen the effect already and those who invest with bitcoin had already feel it as they are happy selling their bitcoins that they bought cheap way back. |

right . investment with gold could be better that investment with bitcoin because as we know gold investment is more safe and secured and also has a quite stable price but i think bitcoin is not actually a bad choice because it also has big potential and a possibility rise despite of it's unstable price . maybe if i have to choose between the two i would pick both . |

Usually when people buy gold they do not do it as an investment,they buy it as a way to keep their money without a bank/and without trusting the government. Gold may only gain you profit if you want for the long run,but I think that you have some better investments if it is your case. |

Gold is a great investment but it has a lots of cons as well, you need a high amount of money to buy gold, people may try to sell you counterfeited gold, they may even try to fake the papers that say the gold is certified, and you have the problem of where to store your gold, in a place you control or in a specialized vault and both of this option have problems too.
If you buy gold coins, for example, and don't want to be robbed or sold fake gold, you would buy gold in a bank which deals in precious metals, though you might have to pay a hefty premium. If you buy gold in bulk amounts, say, you are an institutional investor and want to buy a few tonnes of gold, such questions as storing this gold as well as protecting it are typically already resolved... But I don't think you would be posting here in the latter case |

Usually when people buy gold they do not do it as an investment,they buy it as a way to keep their money without a bank/and without trusting the government. Gold may only gain you profit if you want for the long run,but I think that you have some better investments if it is your case. Really? I think you do refer to those buyer for some design in their home, but honestly if you buy a good volume of gold that means you are already investing in it, the value will increase as good is very stable and you can earn the profit in the long run. |

If you're going to make an investment picking both gold and bitcoin would be great.. because you're being open to every opportunities to profit your money for the future.. and both gold and bitcoin are good for long term investment. |

bitcoin is up fast than gold,but its price is also unstable,sometime it may drop much.gold is more stable and cannot fall its more stable and can also provide you a lot of money, the only thing is that you have to wait a long time mostly.so it depend on your own!for me i prefer bitcoin!

But not everyone has the money to buy this. That is the main reason that people choose Bitcoin. Gold for those who have a lot of extra money.
its not about having extra money ,bitcoin as an investment is quite easy as you could do that in the comfort of your home,you cannot buy gold as easily as you can purchase bitcoin and that is the main difference Well thats because gold has been regulated, and several measures are asked before you be able to get it, while bitcoin anybody can buy it anytime and anywhere, some exchanges are requesting some information, but you can still buy and sell your coins to others, i pick bitcoin because the potencial, i do believe gold wont go anywhere from the current value. As far as I know in the US if you buy specific gold coins worth less than 10k dollars in cash in a single transaction you don't need to identify yourself to the dealer, so there are still some loopholes for people. |

I would prefer Bitcoin in terms of usage and Gold for its value. Bitcoin has more practical uses than Gold. Gold has more value tho but it cannot be used for daily life or pay for anything online like how Bitcoin can. Bitcoin may not be the most versatile currency, but it is more useful than Gold.

I can't say that with the same certainty about bitcoin.
For short term investments, I would pick bitcoin. I see room to grow in the short and middle term future. But what happens on the long run, I can't tell.

Sure gold is used to store the value, to avoid fiat colapses from no where, while bitcoin atleast for me does have a huge potencial ahead, and we will be at bitcoin till 2039 atleast, where the 90% of the bitcoins will be mined. |

It has proven to hold a certain amount of value, and not its main value, as even Gold is undergoing volatile periods from time to time. And don't forget that there is constantly coming more and more Gold "above ground" as it is either through mining, or governments and/or wealthy holders bringing a certain amount of their hidden (not officially known) stash into the public. I can't say that with the same certainty about bitcoin.
That's your opinion of course, but I personally find Bitcoin to be a very decent store of value/wealth. Forget about all the massive peaks and dumps, for now. I am holding my coins since very early 2013 where Bitcoin was worth about $25 per coin. I am still holding some of these coins in my cold wallets where they haven't been touched for more than 3 years. Look where the price stands now.  It's of course no guarantee that the price will continue to go up, but it shows that Bitcoin is, or perhaps was, a very decent long term investment. For short term investments, I would pick bitcoin. I see room to grow in the short and middle term future. But what happens on the long run, I can't tell.
Bitcoin lends itself perfectly for short term investments. However, I would like to ask what you consider to be short and middle term? |
