"Electronic transactions for all. Without censorship or restrictions."

Grin empowers anyone to transact or save modern money without the fear of external control or oppression. It is designed for the decades to come, not just tomorrow. Grin wants to be usable by everyone, regardless of borders, culture, skills or access. There are no amounts and no addresses to search for. Transactions can be trivially aggregated. To hide where a newly created transaction comes from, it gets relayed privately (a "random walk") among peers before it is publicly announced. MimbleWimble the technology empowering Grin leverages cryptography to allow most of the past transaction data to be removed. This guarantees Grin won't crumble under its own weight in the long term. Grin is developed openly, by developers distributed all over the world. It's not controlled by any company, foundation or individual. The coin distribution is designed to be as fair as is known to be possible.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Looking forward to watching this leading MW project grow. Looks promising with constant emission indefinitely, initial ASIC resistance for c29, and super lightweight chain efficiency.

The project looks great and the project team members are well qualified and also with decades of experience. If only they will embark on aggressive marketing the sky will be the limit of this project.

I've been extremely interested in Mimblewimble since it was first presented a couple of years ago, though I only recently heard that grin is finally launching its mainnet soon. This is the first altcoin that has ever significantly interested me.

I will definitely be buying grin fairly early on. Probably won't bother figuring out mining, though. Note that due to the way grin emits its coins, prices are likely to start out high and steadily drop for the first few weeks/months.

If you're mining grin and want to sell for BTC: let me know and I'll buy from you.

Me too, I have been waiting for this for a very long time.
I have talked about it with a few very crypto code-smart people quite a while ago and they also seem to have high hopes for it.

Note that due to the way grin emits its coins, prices are likely to start out high and steadily drop for the first few weeks/months.

Good tips. Thanks.
I hope to get in on this too, hopefully somewhere near the right time, and let it ride.

Yes, this is the first project in the last few months that interested me, I will hope that the expectations will not deceive me.

knowmaster you are a project representative? and this will be the main thread on this forum?

Not Windows 10 yet [grin kind-of builds. No mining yet. Help wanted!]   at the time of launch will be available (January 15)?

Are you planning a bounty company?

I'm so glad to see that a mimblewimble implementation will finally be up and running in the new year! I'm hoping to mine early on but it may not be possible due to the RAM requirements.

Awesome! I heard about grin a few months ago and almost forgot about it. It's still extremely different from what I'm used to, what with there being no addresses etc, but I'm excited to learn more. Time for a crash course before the 15th!

1 grin is created per second on average, forever. Similar to XMR. Not ideal IMO, but it does tend to be deflationary long-term.
