There won't be any limits on the supply. Check the first page. For every minute passed, there will be new 60 grins to be minted.

Much less than the fiats being printed and I think that is the angle this coin is trying to replace, fiat cash. If you want to be a long term speculator you're probably best suited at investing in Bitcoin over grin.

Well not having informative links but just fancy graph isn't the way to go. Informative guides, links to a page contains exchanges, pools, explaining how-to-use-wallet to generic user would be more helpful.

Over 5 GRIN now @ f2pool as of this morning. Turned off my laptop from mining with the 1080, and looking forward to resuming some fun gaming today. Still have the 1080ti running.

Waiting to get paid out; hopefully within the next 24 hours.

When I get paid out, I'll move the 1080ti over to solo mining for a week and hopefully hit at least 1 block.

These new coins made me flee the Windows 10. minerbabe captured my 8_588 and 16_1070 on c31 - 7  graph/s .  And 8_1063 I was able to attach to the beam in  hiveos.  bminer-v14.0.0 on a working computer with 3_1070 12.5 graph / s = 15 graph / s at f2pool.
Price strikes and makes spinning.

At current diff it's ~1:300000 with AR29 and slightly better with AT31. Or ~7 months for a block on average. The diff is not going to stay "current" obviously.

I have fond memories of CPU mining a Bitcoin block back in the day, and would be nice to think I could solo mine at least 1 block with this stuff, before the difficulty truly goes parabolic.

I've never really followed an altcoin launch before, and am absolutely blown away with how much and quickly, the difficulty is increasing for this project.

It has really taken off in an amazing way.

At first you have catastrophic inflation that no amount of hype can overcome, 100% per day on the second day. Then it settles down at least a little, maybe 10% per day, now the early days hype can overcome it. But hype is transitory, inflation is like the tide. Inflation will break the back of the hype machine and we will see a long price decline for 6 months to a year minimum. Difficulty tracks the price so it should be easy to mine again during that lull. I plan to be mining a lot during that time.

Great. Now tell me what coin doesn't have 100% per day on second day? Or some coins have halving on second day?
Look Raven for example. First 4 years have same inflation like GRIN. Every day new 7.2 mil coins mined , every day, first 4 years.

That is valid point how this could be possible to handle bulk transaction while some other projects already doing job very well than how Grin will provide this solution. I also interested to know about this.

It's 14 tps.

It's scalable because it doesn't have ever-mounting costs. If you took Bitcoin and gave it 100 MB blocks, that'd be up to 5.2 TB of data added per year to the history that some subset of users would have to completely store and all full nodes would have to completely download. Altcoins get away with using large max block sizes and saying that they're "scalable" because their blocks are usually empty, so they don't actually have to face the costs.

Grin has a 15 MB bitcoin-equivalent max block size, and while this increases the bandwidth which nodes require (from an absolute minimum of 53 kbps on Bitcoin to 200 kbps on grin - note however that the network cannot function if most nodes have only this minimum), it largely does not increase the history which nodes must keep track of, since mimblewimble uniquely allows the entire network to forget old data.

Maybe in the future there will be a willingness to increase the minimum required bandwidth on grin substantially as global Internet speeds increase. At first glance 200 kbps seems conservative for grin, and since grin does not aim to be a store of value, it can afford to be somewhat reckless anyway. But as long as your network relies on every network participant taking a look at every transaction (ie. on-chain transactions in all decentralized block chain systems), you have no hope of competing with the throughput of eg. Visa, since you have to support ordinary people with less-than-optimized Internet connections running nodes. Global broadcast just doesn't scale well, which is why we're not all tapped into the same Ethernet network. LN can get Visa-level transaction volumes because it keeps most transactions local to the participants.

Yes give it a day. Maybe even two. And then try sparkpool. Sorry, but I also noticed lower graph rate reported on Grinmint last week.
