Mohammed Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja and Cronje match fixing scandal broke during 2000 and ten years after that there was a spot fixing scandal from Pakistan and many players were banned and then the IPL scandal in 2013, so when ever you see these performance people will naturally think about match fixing as people were cheated several times in the past.

I can confidently say that match fixing has become obsolete during the last 10-12 years.

If that is the case, Pakistan spot fixing scandal by Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir in 2010 and in 2014 Lou Vincent accepted fixing matches and then the IPL scandal in 2014 and then Sharjeel Khan was banned in 2017 for his involvement  .
The risk are always high but still people engage in match fixing but i am not telling that the recent match was fixed but match fixing is part and parcel of cricket and other sporting events.

I think we need a separate thread for Match fixing.  This is never ending debate. 
Lets focus on the next T20 match please.

The Barbados Tridents  won the CPL final, after beating the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 27 runs. This time they had another successful event, but got hardly any coverage in India (as no Indian players were participating in the CPL). Some of the Pakistani players (such as Shoaib Malik) were participating, but Pakistanis also showed little interest as an international series against Sri Lanka was ongoing at the same time. 

All that aside, the Caribbean Premier League has now successfully completed 7 editions ever since it has first played in 2013. I need to congratulate the WICB for the grand success of this tournament, as many of the more powerful boards had failed to stage a similar T20 event (I am talking about the cricket boards of Sri Lanka, South Africa.etc).

The new srilankan players were given a chance and they really performed well. It does not matter much how many of them will play in the next Srilanka ODI / T20 as the experienced players are still experienced but we can see the future of srilankan cricket team is bright as they have new emerging players and they have many more years to play.

The "experienced players" were given lot of chances. And what did they achieved recently? According to the ICC rankings, Sri Lanka is ranked 6th in tests, 8th in ODIs and 7th in T20Is (they were ranked 9th, but after the series win against Pakistan they gained two ranks). And their ODI ranking would have been much worse, if Lasith Malinga was not playing in the series against New Zealand.

This is what the experienced guys achieved all these years:

1. They failed to advance to the semi finals during the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Finished with just 3 wins from 9 matches.
2. Failed to qualify directly to the 2020 T20 world cup, as they failed to secure a slot among the top-8 ranked teams.
3. Suffered an innings defeat to NZ at home this year.

I believe that it is time to say goodbye to most of these "experienced players".

You are right, but it is never that simple to replace such players unless their board decides to take big decisions in favor of their country instead of focusing on politics and other stuff.

Based on what I know, the Sri Lankan board has made a lot of wrong decisions in recent times and I doubt that this will change anytime soon. If this new batch of Sri Lankan players(Hasaranga etc) perform in IPL etc(If selected), they have a better chance at replacing the experienced players.

This series may turn out to be a very positive one for Sri Lanka to restructure the main team. They saw some outstanding performance from some of the players in this series and considering some of them for the main team will worth a shot

It's good that they have now more options and now it's up to them how and who to pick. If I was in their foot then I would really had a very hard time.

Just remembered about something related to IPL, after reading your post. The BCCI is planning to expand the number of teams from 8 to 10, although I am not sure whether they will implement this during the next season (2020). Some of the names that I have heard related to this expansion is that of Gautam Adani (Ahmedabad), Sanjeev Goenka (Pune) and Ratan Tata (Jamshedpur). The Kochi Tuskers also want to return to the IPL, but they don't have any backers within the BCCI.

In case they expand the IPL, then there will be 20 extra slots for the foreign players in the teams and 8 in the playing XI. On top of that the BCCI can expect anywhere from $700 million to $1 billion in franchise fee. I hope some of the talented Sri Lankan players will find place in the new teams.

And I don't understand the need to limit the number of teams to 8. In England they have 18 first-class teams. In India itself, a total of 37 teams are playing the Ranji trophy. Why can't we have one team each for every Ranji trophy side? We can divide them in to 3 divisions of 12 each, or 4 divisions of 9 each.

The reason i regard this series win my Srilanka is outstanding is simply because they were so dominant in T20 and if the statistics are true it means that Pakistan only lost one T20 in their past 30 matches and hence no one thought we will see an upset like this, loosing one match is not a big deal but getting white washed and that too all the defeats were by big margin shows how the new kids from Srilanka performed.

I believe that it is time to say goodbye to most of these "experienced players".

It was a lucky break for the new generation of players to play for the national side when the experienced players rejected to play the series in Pakistan.

The Oman Pentangular Series was essentially a warm-up or preparatory tournament for those teams participating in the qualifying tournament for the 2020 T20 World Cup. So it doesn't surprises me that there were no knock-out matches.

A total of 14 teams are participating in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. The venue is United Arab Emirates as usual, as none of the other countries have the capability to host such a big tournament. And I guess most of the matches will be streamed live by the ICC.

The qualifying tournament starts on 18th October (next Friday).

Nowadays most of the T20I matches are being streamed by the respective cricket boards in YouTube. For example, all the matches of the Oman Pentangular Series were streamed live by the Oman Cricket Board through YouTube. For the qualifying tournament, they will be streaming live from the UAE cricket board account in YouTube, or using the ICC official YouTube handle.

BTW, there is some big news coming from India. Sourav Ganguly is set to become the next BCCI president as the two opposing factions (those led by N Srinivasan and Anurag Thakur) reached on a compromise. This is actually bad news for the cricket fans, as it means that N Srinivasan will be back with some decision making power. His last term was a disaster not only for the Indian cricket, but also for the global spread of the game.

For the qualifying tournament, they will be streaming live from the UAE cricket board account in YouTube, or using the ICC official YouTube handle.

The Arab cricket board has the money to broadcast the matches if there are no satellite buyers for their tournament and they have their own television channels to broadcast these matches but that cannot be said about all the cricket boards around the world, if the broadcasting rights are not owned by any television channels then there will be no telecast of the match nor any recordings.

IPL is in a completely different league when compared to the other tournaments that you mentioned since the salaries paid to the players in each team are very high since the team owners are focusing on a specific group of individuals.

Also, the IPL schedule has been designed based on a small group of teams. They tried adding more teams, but that clearly did not work out in their favor(Team owners letting go of their teams etc). The current number of teams in the IPL is optimal in my opinion.

Well.. you definitely have a point there. But I want something in between the IPL and the numerous state-level T20 leagues (such as the Karnataka Premier League, Mumbai T20 League, Tamil Nadu Premier League, Odisha Premier League, Telangana T20 Premier League and Saurashtra Premier League). Right now there is a huge gap between the quality of these two levels of cricket.

What I am suggesting is a second division cricket league, for those cities which are not participating in the IPL. For example, we can have teams from cities such as Kochi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kanpur, Lucknow.etc. This will increase the fan following of cricket in the second tier cities. I would like to have 10 teams in IPL and another 10 in the second division.
