Well.. the problem is that he will get these advertisement deals only if he remains active in international cricket and the IPL. Advertisers are simply making use of his popularity with the cricket fans. If he retires from cricket, then his market value will go down (Mahendra Singh Dhoni found out this the hard way a few years ago). And international cricket is most important. Because if someone doesn't take part in international cricket, then I have noticed that his importance in the IPL will also go down. One perfect example is that of Suresh Raina.

Yes just like you a lot of people don’t want Virat Kohli to not be in the team. Obviously, he is the favorite of a lot of people. But being a favorite is not going to cut it. He will have to show his performance and prove why he should be on the team. Even if in some imaginary situation Virat Kohli does enter into Bollywood, I don’t think he will be able to get it a good terrier. And one thing I am quite certain of is that he will not be even close to the achievements of what that three KHAN has achieved.

Kohli himself doesn't seems much interested in playing international cricket, especially after he lost the captaincy. He will be more interested in representing the RCB side in IPL. He still keeps on playing, because if he announces his retirement then his market value will go down and the sponsorship deals may vanish. So in the end it is money which matters. At this point, the perfect deal that is acceptable for both the sides would be the BCCI asking Virat to take an extended break, so that he can spend some quality time with this family.

If the BCCI wanted to humiliate him I think they would have done that already as they had a lot of chances to do that as well. But I don’t think BCCI has any intention like that. They also know Virat Kohli is an asset to the team. So they are trying to do everything possible so that they can handle this situation smoothly. Virat Kohli has already been told to take a break. To which I’m quite sure he didn’t agree. But if he continues to play like this at a point he will eventually be dropped from the team. And if he is the person who has at least a little self-respect, he’s not going to protest that.

I don’t think it’s only the stardom. Virat Kohli is generally a very good player and one of the best in the world. Maybe the selectors are still thinking that if there is a slight chance he might come back to form, the electors are probably wanting to take that chance. If this was anyone else obviously he would have been dropped from the team. But Virat Kohli is a very trusted person for the selectors. Probably that is the reason why they are still keeping him chance after chance.

At this point, Virat Kohli is the player with the most star value within the Indian national team. Dropping him won't be easy, as he has perhaps the largest fanbase for any sports player in India. As I mentioned earlier, the best option for the selectors would be to give Kohli an "extended break". In this case, Kohli's ego won't be hurt and the selectors won't have to worry about his form as well. On the other hand, if he gets dropped from the team then he may feel humiliated. In that case he may retire from international cricket in protest and that may not be something that the selectors want to face.

A good point giving him some more rest from International cricket is surely in favor of him and Team India because right now selectors can give him rest from Asia Cup which could be good idea for having him in better shape in coming world cup which is going to play in Australia after two months.

With the current form of many youngsters in recent tours selectors still can choose a good and strong squad for Asia Cup where we have no big challenge and surely more experience for these youngsters which are performing amazing in last few months in tour of England, West Indies and Zimbabwe hopefully they will understand this all and try to have set their target for youngsters in long run because right now this event could be very helpful for all youths which are going to have a good future in Team India in coming years.
