If not for the innings from Marcus Stoinis, there were chances that Sri Lanka could defend the total. Yes they could have set a huge total but they did not, Aaron Finch was struggling to connect the ball properly and he played 7 overs for his 31 .

If he can give a good start to Ireland, then it is possible that the middle and lower order batsmen such as Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector and Curtis Campher will build on that and finish with a competitive total. But the Irish bowlers are not in the best of form right now.

You are right, As this is a T20 match we have to be prepared to see any result. Undoubtedly, England's team is much stronger and more experienced than Ireland's. But Ireland has some great batsmen. Ireland's main weakness is the inexperience of their bowlers. If Ireland's bowlers can perform well against England then maybe the match will be competitive. If not, we will see the dominance of England in this match. I guess if England gets a chance to bat first they will set a target of 220+ runs.
