Take the example of the Ireland Vs England match, if the match was not interrupted there were chances that Englan would have chased the runs. As we have seen the teams could even chase 12 to 15 runs in a few overs and win the match.

Another match between Afghanistan and NZ is also abandoned because of the rain. Maybe NZ would have won this match. Previously Zimbabwe and South Africa match was canceled and both teams got one point each. In this case, zimbabwe was lucky to get one point and south Africa of course was unlucky.

The biggest problem is when you are placing a bet on the match as the duckworth lewis is burning a hole with all the rain affected match. There is no denying that Ireland played well but even i do believe that they would have chased the score and placed a bet even though the odds were not that great and then end up loosing.

Ireland performed well. But whether that performance could defeat the England team or not there are lot of confusions about it. In this respect I would say that Ireland is fortunate. Since this is a rule of cricket, there is nothing to do but accept it. But on a platform like the World Cup, win or loss a match effect largely. In this regard England is unfortunate.

If England was in the same position as Ireland, then there would be no protest about the outcome. Most of the people are biased against smaller nations.
