Compare football with cricket. The highest paid footballer has a salary of $215 million per year with additional perks (Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr). On the other hand, the highest paid cricketer is paid around 1% of that amount. Mitchell Starc has now become the most expensive cricketer and his salary with Kolkata Knight Riders is worth $3.1 million per year). That means that most of the profits earned from the IPL goes to BCCI, who in turn spends this amount elsewhere. IPL media rights alone is worth around $1.2 billion per year.

And it would remain the same.

I am okay if they increase the ceiling by INR 200-210 cr, in short, double the amount of the current purse and throw the mini auction in the dustbin. Sign players for long contracts (atm it's 3 years, maybe 4 would be okay), retaining limit should be increased as well, maybe 8-10 players so that they can build a fan base, nurture new talents etc. Otherwise, loyalties get mixed all the time and no one focus on new players. There is a reason CSK and MI are successful teams.   

I think it's a good thing that the money is increasing in the IPL each year because things will get juicier as JSRAW said. No other international cricket is played during that tenure and they are taking a good advantage of it.

Although it's a shame that the Australians or any other cricketers doesn't focus on their own nation’s league and focuses on IPL. Cricket is becoming like football and the franchise with more money will rule the cricket in the next few years. IPL is leading here. Defending target was very big in today match because Tim Robinson batter made 139 scores in low deliveries only 69 and other batter also displayer good performance and Nick Kelly captain of Wellington sqaud made 48 scores, at end of their batting inning, their sqaud collected total 234 scores and their bowlers wiped out all batters of Otago squad for 160 scores and only emerged victory in 74 scores.

Cricket is slowly moving in that direction with the Indian Premier League (IPL). And now coming to the case of Quinton De Kock, his retirement has more to do with the racial bias from the South African selectors. Windies were actually striking at a great rate and they probably could have chased down the mammoth target if they still had wickets in hand. Final will be the decider.

Today was the second match of this Tournament. Wellington played first turn and gave a huge target to Otago team. In Wellington team all the credit goes to one person. He is Tim Robinson who made 139 on 64 balls with 10 sixes and 10 fours. He is the player of the match too. They played really well and gave the target of 235 runs.
Otago tried much but the score was very high. Wellington bowling was also good. Ian McPeake and Peter Younghusband got 3…3 wickets and restricted the Otago under 170 runs. Congratulations to Wellington team.

Today was the second match of Super Smash, and this second match was won by Wellington, and in this league, New Zealand domestic team players playing this T20 league.

In today's match, Otago played very poorly, their batting lineup is not good. They lost their all wickets on just 160 runs. The Wellington team won by 74 runs. This is a wonderful victory by Wellington. Hamish Ruther did not play well, he just made 6 runs in 7 balls, and their second partner Jake Gibson played well, he tried to give their team victory but unfortunately, he lost his wicket, when he played just 31 balls.

He hit 10 sixes and 10 fours against Otago. What a player he is, and he completed this all in just 64 balls. He also can stand not out but on the last ball of the innings he lost his wicket due to bad luck but he almost completed his batting job for his side. He did wonderful batting, he is the main player in this victory.

It didn't surprise me that various fancies spent a lot of money in this IPL auction but what surprised me was that Kolkata Knight Riders managed to retain a great finisher like Rinku Singh for just 55 lakhs. The Indian cricketer has been in great form in the national team and domestic leagues since the last IPL, but various teams have not shown much interest in this player. While other players have been bought for Rs 24 crores and Rs 20 crores, Rinku Singh's price of only 55 lakhs will be a big question in every cricket lover's mind. When this Indian cricketer performed brilliantly in the last IPL and made many impossible matches possible for Kolkata, I thought his price would exceed crores in the next season, but his price did not exceed 55 lakhs.

Otago lost the match in a very bad way. Their bowlers were not able to do good bowling against Willington that's why their batsmen have been under pressure due to the big target and then they lost their wickets again and again and they lost the match.

The Otago team lost the match, their all team was not able to play against Willington. Hamish Rutherford made 6 runs in seven balls, and he hit no boundary. He is not a good player, and the second opener of Otago Jake Gibson played average, he made good runs but was not too good in front of 234 runs target, but he hit a boundary, we saw 6 fours and 3 sixes by him. He made 56 runs in just 31 balls. He is out by McPeake and he is caught by Smith, but Jake is the only player in his team who played well.

I think Indian players need to get more money. Bumrah was only 12 Crore while Pat Cummins was 20 crore? Starc was 24.75 crore?  Bumrah is on the same level as Cummins and Starc if not more. He deserves at least 20 crore. Other finishers/batsmen like Russow, and Head got around 8 crore. Rinktu needs to get at least 5 crore.

Hamish Rutherford used seven balls and he was able to make just 6 runs. He did not play well in that match. Jake Gibson made 56 runs in just 31, he played wonderfully but he didn't stand on the pitch for playing for a long time.

Dale Phillips just made 2 runs while he used 2 balls. Dean Foxcroft is the captain of the team so he should made a good run but he also didn't stand on the pitch for a long time, I think if he played for a long time so maybe they had a chance to win.

Here we go people. IPL 2024 auction time. Sam Curran's preposterous 18.5 cr bid will most probably be broken by someone being bought for 20+ cr and that someone could be Daryll Mitchell in my opinion.

Shahrukh Khan will probably get the highest bid for an uncapped player thanks to his finishing skills. Excited!

In my opinion, that oction is in start. Record will be break on Viral Kohli and Rohit Sharma because Indian businessmans invest money in  their own batsmans. They invest on foreign players but they prefer first their own players. Indian IPL investor will break the record and they will end the  oction on big players like MS Dhoni.

Now it's time for investors  to make money . They will invest on big players especially prety zenta will invest on Maxx well and now Maxwell is in form batsman. And prety zenta will make the new record in my opinion.

Australian players are highly demanded in IPL. Interesting to see that bowlers are sold very high then batsmen. Mitchell starc and Cummins are most expensive player of the India premium league so far. I think you are right, Indian own player bet will be more high. KL rahul was most expensive player in 2022 and this year Rohit Sharma, Virat kohli , Siraj and Shami will be aso sold high. Well.. this is how the market works. Jasprit Bumrah could have got a bigger amount, if he was 100% fit. He breaks down very frequently and then misses matches as a result of injury. The same can be said about some of the other Indian pacers, such as Umran Malik and Deepak Chahar. And then coming to Rinku Singh, he had a dream IPL run in 2023. But then, he need to show more consistency. Rinku reminds me of several other one-season wonders in the IPL, such as Rahul Tewatia, Saurabh Tiwary, Paul Valthaty, Swapnil Asnodkar and Manpreet Gony.

BCCI, made cricket into a profitable than ever before and they spot the right time frame April and May which is the summer Holidays throughout the India. It doesn't mean there is no international matches in that time period and even the next year England players may not be available to play IPL and that is why Englishmen went unsold in the Auction.

Only Australian or English Players can afford to avoid IPL because they earn enough from there respective boards. For every other country player, now IPL is priority over national task. You may say there is very little cricket during IPL as most players are busy in IPL. Cricket in WI suffered alot because the board is not giving much funds to players and that's why they prefer playing leagues.

Rinku Singh averages an insane 65.50 in T20Is and his strike rate stands at 180.68. And he has similar figures in IPL as well. For the 2023 season, his average was 59.25 and the strike rate was 149.53. I am sure that he will rank in the top-5 list for the batsmen in IPL 2023. He made an excellent comeback after repeated failures. Made his debut in 2018, and in between 2018 and 2020, he played 10 IPL matches and managed to score just 76 runs. He had a decent season in 2022, but the big break came in 2023.
