Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers met in the 34th match. Batting first the score of Sydney Sixers stopped at 151/7. I thought it would be difficult for the Sixers to defend such a below par total against a strong Thunder batting lineup. When Sydney ended the batting powerplay coldly I thought they almost won the match, but no. As we have seen before in cricket, anything is possible and the Sixers came out all guns blazing on the field to defend their total. The run rate went down after the wicket of Alex Hales and could not recover from there, with Steve Okeefe in particular bowling brilliantly, taking three wickets for 13 runs in four overs.
