Franchise leagues are all about money, it's more likely they choose Dhoni and Kohli because these two are popular players, and they wanted to start IPL with a bang. GT was in final last year but don't have any star players (Gill is having some limelight but not as much as aforementioned two).

IMO it's a good idea that they decided to give captaincy to Gaikwad while Dhoni is there, so he can mould him. This should also help prevent drastic change for the team.

Yes you are right not having important players in Namibian team makes them weaker but we can't say that they are not good. Every team has problems with injuries or missing players sometimes and other players need to do well. Uganda has all their best players and did well in recent matches so they are tough team to play against. But we should not say Namibia is not strong. If the team works together and players do their best Namibia can still do well in today match. By the way still we can't say anything Namibia players will fullfil the space of missing players or not but still they have chances of winning.

Yes today was the semi final match and these Namibia won the match by giving a target of 111 runs to Uganda. Nambiia batting performance was not so good but he won this match by doing good bowling performance especially Shikongo he took 2 wickets by giving 12 run in 4 overs and Klazinga also played very well he took 4 wickets by giving 19 run in 4 overs and he also made a score for his team and was awarded as a player of the match .

Yeh Namabian team beat the Uganda with huge margin and qualified for final, I taught thier opponent will give them tough time because they are already undefeated but still they unable to deliver signficant results. while now his second semifinalist team Zimbabwe done his job by defeating his opponent with huge margin too and qualify for final, now according to team strength and moral I am sure that Zimbabwean side will get dominance over them, it's true Namabian side already delivered decent performance in recent past but when it come to face Zimbabwe they will surely surrender. We have two finalists team Zimbabwe and Namibia, after a strong fight in different lower stages of the tournament, I know it's a tough game for Namabia to beat the top of the table team, Uganda, but I think his experience while playing different international competitions helped them to beat each and every team of the tournament and make themselves qualify for the finals. Now they will face Zimbabwe which is one of the top teams from the entire tournament who beat te same as like Namibia but I think Zimbabwe will give them a tough time as compared to them. Namibia is quite weak and doesn't have a big dependable name so I think that will create difficulties for Namabia.

One of semi final games today in African games league Namibia vs Uganda team, in this game, Namibia team showed very brilliant effort because they did not made big target but their bowler made very struggle and stop Uganda team players to their target. Yes I also think that Kenya had a hard time in their match against Zimbabwe. Bowlers tried but could not stop Zimbabwe from scoring much runs which made it tough for Kenya to catch up. As you mentioned Jonathan Campbell played well for Kenya but only one man can not do everything for a team all players need to focus on their responsibility. We know that Zimbabwe now qualified for the Final match.  The final between Zimbabwe and Namibia will be very interesting in my point of view. So let's see who will win that Match.
