Biden officially endorses Trump.

Come on, man.  That's disingenuous and you know it.  Biden unofficially has dementia, but he didn't endorse Trump.

It's a joke you fucking hard on. Take that finger you are wagging at me and stick it up your ass, that would be a better use of your time.

With so much demonstrably fake news about the President, I don't know how much of that to believe.  Assuming it's all true, is it inappropriate?  How many trips did Clinton or Obama take to Martha's Vineyards?  How many trips did Bush take to his ranch in Texas?  What do a trips of that sort cost the taxpayers, and how does that compare to Trump taking a trip to Mar-A-Lago?

I don't think Obama owns Martha's Vineyard properties and Bush didn't bill the Secret Service for staying at his ranch.

It seems like just another excuse to bash Trump over the head.  Nevertheless, Trump's losses are hardly being compensated by whatever they're charging the Secret Service for staying at Mar-A-Lago.

It's not just Mar-a-Lago. Trump's definitely cashing in on his presidency - that info is reasonably public although I suppose you can say you don't trust leaked info (Secret Service hasn't been filing official disclosures for some reason). I don't know about the losses that you mention so I don't know if one is larger than the other.

Really?  You made a joke, you fucking humorless prick?  Historic day in bitcoinlandia.

I don't think Obama owns Martha's Vineyard properties and Bush didn't bill the Secret Service for staying at his ranch.

I think Obama does own MV property now, but I don't think he owned any during his presidency.  Bush may not have charged the Secret Service when he stayed at his ranch, but I don't think they (the Secret Service agents) were actually staying on the ranch with him.  Nonetheless, the Secret Service needed accommodations, and the tax payers payed for them.

Mar-a-Lago is a resort with rooms, a staff, maids, cooks...  Not quite apples to apples comparisons.

I don't care to engage in this argument.  There's too much misinformation about this claim and not nearly enough subjective, irrefutable evidence to convince me.  But I will say that I find it hard to believe that a billionaire who gives up his very lucrative job running his own multinational corporation to serve his country is doing so just to "cash-in."

Given that 2020 is toast, and that I'm rooting for Ivanka 2024...

It'll be interesting to see who the 2024 Republican nominee will be now that Trump has changed the party. Pence literally believes that he has been chosen by God to be president someday, so he'll eventually go for it, though he's a Mitt Romney Republican, not a Trump Republican. It's unclear if he could win the nomination or the general even if he had Trump's endorsement. I would expect Trump to favor endorsing a family member over Pence, if any of them actually want it. The Trump children are more likable than Pence, and could more easily claim to be continuations on Trump's legacy, though with different "flavors": Ivanka would be a more Dem-leaning candidate, Eric Trump and Jared Kushner are more stable, and Trump Jr. is even more extreme. And of course we'll probably have people like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz running again.

2024 could be seriously interesting, if the Dems generated internally a candidate with some charisma and halfway rational policies. And I suspect they will do that.

I really think the American history of family dynasties in politics is puke worthy, but Ivanka with a non-Barbie, more mature dress and hair style would be a serious candidate. As is typical with the VP, his being in the background, we don't really know Pence.

Of course it doesn't matter what I think, me being another half crazy radical of sorts, but I'd put both Cruz and Rand Paul on the Supreme Court. For the POTUS, we need more of an innovative than a managerial approach.

Does Pence actually beleive stuff like this? He's literally just a guy that Trump picked to be VP so he could have some more contacts in the insiders of politics. Nothing more and nothing less. Pence is literally more unfavorable among Americans then Trump is (by like 3 points). This guy literally would never be able to win the nomination. He's too old world and establishment for this new wave of the party.

Trump will probably be the one with the following to decide who the new nominee is. Doubt it's going to be a family member, would seem too much like a King. If he endorsed his son or some shit the entire country would just be like -- come on man, endorse someone with a real vision.

I expect Ted Cruz to run again, Rand Paul, etc. Whoever gets Trump endorsement (given that he wins this time around) will be the nominee of the party.

Biden will probably be winning mini Tuesday by the way. Seems like it as of right now.

It's not uncommon for the likes of a POTUS to rent an entire floor (or more) of a hotel for security reasons, but at the moment we should be getting bargain rates.

Given the coronavirus scare, right now the Rio in Vegas is $21. Not every night of the week, but a lot of times. So why can't we get a big discount on those Air Force One flights, too?

See this is one of the things about Trump that really annoys me, but the people don't talk about that much. There's a scandal or two about this every few months or so, but nothing ever comes out of it.

Remember the time that Pence went to Ireland and stayed at a Trump hotel 180 miles from his destination for safety reasons - https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/9/3/20847247/mike-pence-ireland-doonbeg-trip-180-miles-away-trump-hotel

Or William Barr throwing a 30k Christmas Party (for the DOJ) at Trumps hotel in Washington DC - https://www.vox.com/2019/8/28/20836544/william-barr-trump-hotel-party-emoluments-corruption

and on and so.

I assume that the rest of government doesn't care about this sort of stuff because this sort of corruption is very common in Washington. I mean there may be some legitimacy to the fact that the secret service does already know some of their places better, and maybe it does save them on training time, but I'd love to see their actual research and stuff on the matter instead of them just making bold claims and then the media letting the whole story go away.

Does Pence actually beleive stuff like this?

Apparently. There's a book about this, Piety and Power: Mike Pence and the Taking of the White House. (I didn't read the book, but I watched a long interview with the author.)

Well this is something that I'm going to have to watch. Watched like the first 10 mins of it and it sounds pretty interesting. Just as some initial thoughts it seems like Karen Pence is much more politically involved then other political wives (I doubt Melania does much of anything in the WH) But I'm not surprised of Karen being a very involved wife, I remember her saying that (when the Hollywood Access tape came out) she wasn't going to be in public with Pence anymore.

I'll watch the rest of this and edit this. Thanks for the link Theymos!

You know what the real joke is though? The Democrat party.

Maybe you and Nutilduuuhhh can take turns working the projector at the local theater and fucking your goat while the other is working, I think you would get along.

P.S. Do me a favor and learn how to use quotes. I don't want to be mistaken for Suchmoon, and I am sure they feel the same.

A few stays at Trump's hotels will surely make him rich..
That's why he wanted to become president.. So he could force some people to stay at his hotels from time to time..

That's right. You tell everyone what their interests are cause they're too stupid to know right? Maybe you should also tell them what they can and can't say, what job they're allowed to work at and so on and so forth. Cause you would certainly know better than them what's best for them.

Fuck this country.  People are completely brainwashed into voting against their own interests.  I hope Trump wins in a landslide.

Well, If Bernie loses this time around, It's on him and it's also on us. What did you do to get Bernie elected? Did you make phone calls? Knock on doors? Make YouTube videos and social media posts? What could you have done?

I personally know I could have done a lot more. If we all had dropped everything, and acted as if this election was an existential threat, which in the long term it is, we would have won.

Let's not pretend that it's the voter's fault that they are misinformed. That's the media's fault, they're not doing their job. That's the educational system failing. It's a societal problem.

There are good people who vote for Trump and good people who vote for Biden, you can only hope that people become smarter as the time goes forward and try and make a positive impact that way. Hope is the right term here, we shouldn't take that for granted.

Trump's legacy...
Dear theymos, is this "expression" has a meaning? After reading several posts i believe that i wasted my time on reddit, the real fun is here!
Uncle Bernie seems to be the best choice imo, but USA citizens don't prefer to change the way they are living. It is unfortunate.

A few stays at Trump's hotels will surely make him rich..
That's why he wanted to become president.. So he could force some people to stay at his hotels from time to time..
Genius!

I mean I'm not saying that this is the reason that Trump wanted to become President, though I am saying that during his presidency this is something that is currently happening under his presidency. Though I'm not saying that SIMPLY because people are staying at Trump hotels that Trump is a corrupt -- I'm saying that the administration should make clear how they're ensuring that there is no issues in picking the hotel. We should see that Trump hotels are seen to be the cheapest -- not that they're picked for a reason such as -- Trump likes them more.

So yeah.

That's right. You tell everyone what their interests are cause they're too stupid to know right? Maybe you should also tell them what they can and can't say, what job they're allowed to work at and so on and so forth. Cause you would certainly know better than them what's best for them.
I hear there are thousands of jobs doing exactly that, at the likes of Fbook and Twitter.
