I've a technical question as well. On the stake arrow, right after a stake is finished, it says I have some ridiculous amount of time to wait till the next stake. It's obviously not the case, so I'm just wondering how it derives the number? Once it gets down to where it's close, it's fairly accurate, but before that it shows like a few thousand years Tongue

Also, what is the actual staking time supposed to be? I don't recall, and I don't know if it got altered with the recent changes. Just curious, here, not trying to throw any trouble out. My wallet is working very well.

Code:
unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 2; //2 days minimum age for coin age
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = -1; // Unlimited

minage = 2 day

maxage = unlimited

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Thanks! I'm not a programmer, though I'm slowly learning. Didn't have a clue where to look.

My recent research shows if we can do something physical, SHA can get more value.

Paper wallet might be a good place to start.  Maybe set up a bounty?

What?? It's alive?!  Was still in my watchlist and figured I'd come check out the last posts of the coin I was bag holding, and to my amazement the new wallet  is synching without error.  Nice job devs!

EDIT: Spoke too soon.  Stuck on block 42492.  Twice.  Second time I cleared everything from the folder in %appdata%\ShaCoin except the wallet, so it was starting from a clean slate.

DOUBLE EDIT:  addnodes in conf file fixed...

TRIPLE EDIT: ...or not.  Seems like it's freezing up when synching every few thousand nodes and needs to be restarted to resume.  It's running again now but it froze the first time on 42492 for over half an hour, was definitely hung.  Anyone else having this problem?

It hung twice for me, and has been flawless since it got current. But it did lock up solid until I restarted it.

good.

My original thinking was to build banknotes for our coin, but it is still impossible for our world now.
Because we cannot print private key on paper, anyone get the private key can get coins in it.
then the note will be worth nothing.

But if we don't print out the key, then it is just a common paper with coin address.
and actually, even we got a note with private key on it, we will not know if there are coins in it.
So, the banknote thing is still impossible till now. All we got till now by using this method is only for paper wallets. It is not so bad, at least we can keep a backup offline of our wallet.

Good news is, I've got the method to build a paper wallet, it is still good.
I found the key and build the demo, it will reduce the difficulty for us to build good looking wallet ourself.

Bounty is still there, and demo site with script had already up.
If you have a good design, you can modify the css and img.
We can have 3-5 design version, each one will get 100k bounty.

All up to date, it did it two or three times all told but it finished synching overnight, so not too onerous.

Frank: thanks for the full blockchain links...

When I am looking to the image, I felt that we need a simple symbol.

Here is my thinking:

SHA  ---> S ---> No!

then another way:

SHACoin 2 ===> SHA + 2 ===> S + 2 ===> S + II ===> ?

I just can't believe what I got. Do you know what is that ?

I can't understand what you are talking about. can you explain that a little? 1913?
What's wrong with this symbol?

Sure thing. The Federal Reserve was established in 1913. Prior to that, the dollar was based on 1 troy ounce of gold equalling 20 USD. The money was even by the standards of the time, very valuable. After the highly illegal establishment of the FED, they quickly went to work on making "bank notes" legal tender, thugh still nominally backed by gold or silver.

Then in 1937, by fiat (where we get the term fiat money), the Thief in Charge ordered the seizure of all private gold bullion "for safekeeping" and made the paper dollar no longer a true demand note. Unless you were well connected or a foreigner.

The final nail in the dollar's coffin, leading to it's subsequent rise as an undead entity, was in 1971 when Richard Nixon declared that the dollar was no longer backed by anything but the bullshit coming from the fed and wall street. He was damn near that blunt, too. It was a declaration of national insolvency, and my father's generation missed it.

Since that time the dollar has devalued by a factor of about 5000.

okay, now I understand what you worry about.

I will not do banknotes. and actually as I explain before,
it is impossible to create banknotes and make it having true value till now.
so, I am not going to do that.

What I am going to do is to make physical items, everyone can make those items,
they will have true value inside with a very easy money symbol, or even with no symbol.
they will be made by general metal(Iron,Copper). each one will worth about 0.1 usd dollor now.
this price will guarantee no one will doubt its value because you cannot make it with less money.

general metal have true value.
so even all banks are broken, they will still have ture value inside. we can use them buy foods.

While my reply was serious, I was mainly trying to make a joke. However, there are a lot of us in the Crypto movement that would like to break all association with fiat currencies. Also, if you use the USD symbol, it might attract regulatory predation. Tread carefully. You resurrected a dead coin, and that's a feather in your cap. Careful you don't kill it again Cheesy
