Fantastic! It will be great having more people have eyes on the patents and verify the technology. It's a great step getting the NDAs going. Once this patent saga is over this project is going to steamroll up the charts

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Very sensible move getting Danny and Golden to have a hand in the patent process.

If those 2 guys come away excited about the project then we are all good.

Sorry. It's been 18 months then, any news on the patents after 18 months?

Actually, its 19 months now and since you did not see anything posted, that means there is no "recent" news.

However, we do plan for an update as was mentioned the other day in Discord after receiving a reply from the lawyers.

Maybe you should join Discord? If you have been banned from Discord, follow the rules and maybe you will not get banned again, this way you can stay better informed!

Thanks and have a great day!

Dave

Are you still moving forward with the current 3 patents or are you submitting all 8 at once? im just a bit curious as to what's next after the update

eXBY There is lots to do prior to the start of testnet even after patent pending. The patent pending technology will be the start of and part of the next steps.

This is a response today from CCR to a similar Question on Discord.
We are still planning the 5 applications which were reported after meeting with the law firm last December. Regarding how long it will take for the other patents; I cannot even begin to think about giving a date for this. However, we have learned how the process works now and will be taking additional steps to try to improve the efficiency.

Judging by the fact that our first swing at the bat was for 3 different POSIGN patent applications, for a very complex consensus process, it should be much faster.

Regarding a delay for the tech, I cannot comment on this at this time, other than to say again that this tech is not an on/off switch. There are a potentially unlimited amount of milestones in front of us as we continue to build out this blockchain development platform.

One of the key milestones for the community is the opening of STATIC registrations. Once we have PP for POSIGN, you can expect this registration to open at any time thereafter. This is required because the next piece of the tech that needs to be assembled is the network and this network requires the 3 levels of STATIC nodes, which each play a different role in the POSIGN consensus.

Oh. This is disappointing. I had hoped Borz had some of the tech ready to go. I will watch and wait more

For those interested to know about Danny's and Golden's experience:

Read Danny's and Golden's Testimonials available on the team page. It gives information about their backgrounds. Danny's been in IT since a long time. Additionally, Golden has spent a good amount of time learning about and understanding many of the current consensus methods, and has a very good understanding of them.
