So I had a few people scheduled to come and pickup some of my GPUs this weekend. Then all of a sudden one of them says he is not interested, then a few hours later another guy says he doesnt want the GPU anymore. Then a few minutes ago some other guy cancelled. This is very strange.

Then I look and all of twitter and reddit everybody is talking about EIP going live in July. So does this mean the GPU prices top is in?

I read the EIP 1559 and honestly how does it work exactly? I don't think it means that gas fees will always be lower. What about during spikes or Defi craze like we had a few months ago?

It seems like a perfect way to benefit ETH holders and screw over the miners.

Maybe maybe not.  The issue is simple lower fees are bad for mining if and only if lower fees do not cause eth price to rally.

on second thought maybe they hit the shuffle.

Look at the ones you can hit today some good cards.

Lastly I sold my visiontek amd 5500 xt  8gb for 400  after fees 325.

but the buyer was a newbie so I now will have fear of a callback for months.

It is why I only sold 1 card and a lower priced amd 5500 xt not a high end evga 3090 3987.

I think the gpu top is in.  I don't think that 3080's at $1,800-2000 is sustainable.  I think it is going to take a little while for prices to drop a lot though.

I had the chance to buy a stellar.io bot last night for $300 and I didn't.  Supposedly they sold around 2000 key's.  I regret it even though some people are saying the dev's might bolt.  Bot's are all the rage and now people are buying keys to in hopes to flip them.

End result is until BestBuy starts selling in store the average person looking for a top tier gpu is likely not getting one without buying from eBay, Stockx or a local reseller.

I sell a lot of toys during the holidays and it would be nice to be able to automate those purchase's to augment what I can get wholesale or retail brick and morters.  I may rent a bot for a month to see how difficult it is to keep up, what additional costs like proxies are, and how successful it is if I am trying to grab lower tier gpu's.

Yes it seems without a bot it's impossible to get a card at retail.  A lot of people are crying foul with the Newegg shuffle but that's the only way I've been able to get cards at a decent price these days and I look forward to entering the shuffle when it's available.

I have not had any luck with their shuffle but I did score a 5700xt from them this week just using the Auto-Notify feature.  Also got a 3070 from B&H but it was an email offer, they didn't list on their site.  Had to call in and give a code to order.

On B&H how did you sign up for the email offer?  I watch them and have been wondering why I haven't seen any drops all week from them.

I run my 6900 XT at

c 1100
m 2150
v 1000
= 63.5 mh

The volts could be less but it's in my personal desktop that's used all day for various tasks so I opted for the 24/7 rock solid stability.

Not at all which is why I'm surprised that these are all sold out everywhere also.  I got one a few weeks after launch and never really tried looking for another one.  I can see why Nvidia has a shortage but I'm not sure why AMD also has a shortage.

I am guessing the chip shortage is the worst ever. It could mean not much in the way of gear until Nov-Feb .

meanwhile price went up 🆙 on eth closer to 1650.

Thats the same 5700 I got also, the Red Devil.

On B&H, they just pulled my info from where I had it on Auto Notify at random from what I understood.  Was able to order a MSI 3070 Gaming X Trio by calling in.

Just now getting back into mining after a 4 year or so break and trying to get enough cards to put at least 1 rig together.  I currently have 4 3060ti systems mining but still have stuff minus the GPU's to build 2 open air rigs from where I used to mine.  I even signed up for wholesale accounts with several the largest computer parts wholesalers in the country to increase the chances of getting in bulk but no luck yet.

Yeah every source I know is dry. The chip shortage is real.

Eth payouts are still very good and rallied a bit from 7.7 cents an mh to 8.4 cents an mh

A 3080 doing 100 mh is making $8.40 a day - 7kwatts of power lets say $1.40 at 20 cents a kwatt for a garage miner. Thus it is $7 a day for  a 3080 makes a 3080 worth 200 x 7 = 1400

they are going for more. But I simply think they are not going to be available.

Some prices for the 3080 Evga's I have

2100
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-XC3-ULTRA-10GB-GDDR6X-Graphics-Card-Ships-Same-Next-Day/143970690287?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-XC3-ULTRA-10GB-GDDR6X-Graphics-Card/124616514319?

It is tempting to list my 3 cards for 1600 each here on Bitcointalk. As no one is selling them under 2100 on ebay.

I have a 4th one on the way. The three above have been mining since  November. They have earn about 20 average a day for about 120 days = 2400 on a free power setup.

I paid about 2400 for them.  So they are with roi or +-100 from roi.  I wonder if anyone would pay me 1600 each They are registered in my name at evga and have 2 years and 8 months on the warranty.

I still feel strong rally on the way.  Maybe 3000 a coin for eth by July leading up to the EIP-1559
Yeah I don't know how long I will live to , but I know when I look back on 2021 I am going to like to remember the bull run.
I hit the 2013 run weakly
I hit the 2017 run better
I hit the 2021 run even better.

The title of this thread was so spot on.

My rigs are completely full.  Now I have to decide to a try and get more cards and build another one at this point.

Also - I am using some old cards already paid for - 1060's at 25mh a pop that I could replace in the rigs at this point.

But I don't understand this July thing - although ROI would probably be a few months for whatever cards I can find.

Is it a good idea  at this point to build another rig?
